darrenhayes Darren Hayes Every 2 years I do a one-off New Year's Eve night - concert then club to 3 am. This year it will be in Manchester. Announcement April 14. I love Darren Hayes & have seen Savage Garden in concert - ADAM follows him - I think that they would be a great collaboration for beautiful music! Just cuz it's Sunday and my brain likes to wander around getting into mischief, I was thinking more about this Adam as Heathcliff idea... I thought that it would be really interesting (and the basic storyline would still work) if they made the Catherine character a man, and Edgar Linton a woman. Everything else could pretty much stay the same, and damn, now wouldn't THAT be a hot story of star-crossed lovers?  That would cause a huge stir with traditionalists and prob get an Academy Award nom for Academy Award for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay). |

Boy, I enjoyed listening to the vids of Darren Hayes and Savage Garden that you posted. Darren has a gorgeous timbre to his voice. "Insatiable" gave me goosebumps. I like knowing who Adam follows in terms of music. I had never heard Sia, Nikka Costa, Darren Hayes etc. (ya, I live under a rock) before Adam and Atop. Thanks!  ETA: I see your note now above 'Insatiable'..I get it.

There was a comment about Adam following Interscope upthread. If you check, you will see that many pop artists follow competing labels promo twitters.
Sony's contract with Idol was up at the end of season 9. They made the decision not to renew the contract and to sign a contract with Simon Cowell's X-Factor US instead. Sony has the contracts for all of Simon's talent competitions -- America's Got Talent, X-Factor (UK), Britain's Got Talent, and now X-Factor US. That is a lot of talent show contestants.
They really did not have much need to resign with Idol -- because the own the main competing franchise.
