This was a panel discussion at an advertising industry event. I just listened to it. Interesting discussion. Adam is mention starts around 17.00 The panel moderator mentions Adam first but says that Nile told him about it. "I know you are doing something now with Adam Lambert. Do you want to tell us about what you are doing with Adam?" So the reference was prompted by Nile. Nile talks about the connection between Nile and Sam Sparro to Adam. Nile talks a bit about American Idol, too. But nothing that he hasn't said before here. Q3, but the big thing is "the panel moderator" you mention is the CEO of one of the biggest advertising firms in the WORLD. My interest in this isn't about Nile, in fact as a Glambert I was a bit miffed, but the firm's twitter made an immediate tweet mentioning Adam, the CEO/moderator has written about him as well as specifically bringing his name up in the conversation. He's on their radar. I did learn a lot about Nile that I didn't know. DraftFCB is a division of one of the biggest advertising firms in the world -- Interpublic Group which is one of the big four. WPP where I used to work is #1. ** I am glad that Nile gave credit for Shady to Sam Sparro and Adam. I appreciate Nile's guitar work on the track but am a huge Sam Sparro fan and think his role in this track often gets forgotten. The only trick to his trade: truth IMO That is a social media mention of someone with a lot of passionate Twitter followers. This is people using Adam's celebrity to get attention. And it worked. We are talking about an industry panel on an Adam fansite. Regarding Nile connecting Adam to Bowie -- I follow Bowie closely. I do not think that Nile is or ever was close to Bowie -- few people were and fewer people are. And I do not think they have worked together since 1993 "Black Tie White Noise". But maybe I am forgetting something -- but that is 20 years ago. ** All of that aside, anything that builds Adam's celebrity within the advertising community is good. |

I find it so interesting that Gangnam by PSy, the Korean singer is going viral and being played on Top40 all over the world. If you listen to it is is Eurotechno from the 90's. Top40 wants something different and that's why songs that are different are making it. If we could get the radio PD's bias, Adam would make it cause he is so different, and so is the sound. If Adam can have a song that jumps onto iTunes into the top five for several weeks and a video that explodes and goes viral, he could have a hit like PSY. Gangnam style is #1or #2 on iTunes in over forty countries. There is more going on here than radio play. |

If Adam can have a song that jumps onto iTunes into the top five for several weeks and a video that explodes and goes viral, he could have a hit like PSY. I think only PSY can have a hit like PSY  |

I have, and I've seen the video several times. If TSP is meant to be another GS, it will explode organically like PSY's song did. People don't know what they want, they want color...they want more Rihanna or a love song from Bieber.  They want another freaking break-up song from Taylor Swift! (the last two which are #3 and #5 on CHR are pink bubblegum) Some of Adam's songs are "different" but so are hundreds of other songs that are on hundreds of current albums. It takes the right song at the right time by the right person and a lot of lucky breaks thrown in the mix to have a hit Pop song. Maybe Trespassing will be one of the "colorful" songs to break through!  |
