Maybe they're co-headliner ;D Talking about co-headliner, I'm surprise that Daugthry is co-headline with another band for the US tour. And off course he's also opening for Nickelback in Europe. For all the sales that he made, guess he still needs help for touring. I'm not! Opening for a band like Nickelback over in Europe was great exposure for Daughtry. Co-headlining is smart if you want to reach outside of the same stan base from AI and play to venues larger than 1,000-2,000 people. It can end up being a positive experience for the artists and "two for the price of one" can bring in a lot more casual fans than a solo tour. Kelly Clarkson just finished a co-headling tour with The Fray. It didn't hurt her in any way. Jlo and Enrique had a co-headlining tour. Most artists and groups are struggling to play the bigger venues. Artists are having to do things like co-headlining to attract buyers.

Ok, this may be a really dumb question but is it ever a good idea to email a PD/MD (or even a DJ) directly? I know a lot of websites have this information. Something like, "will you be playing the new Adam Lambert song?" I have never done this before, and ordinarily I would think it might not be the thing to do, but I kind of feel like we could be entering "what could it possibly hurt at this point" territory. Is this a totally bad idea? they may not know the new song, so I would ask for Trespassing directly.

Didn't hurt; their reply was sweet.

Would there be an opening act for a concert with two headliners? ..cause for very selfish reasons I can't stand the idea of going to Adam's concert and having to live through TWO other acts... it was bad enough with just one non-Adam... I also don't understand how would it be better earnings wise - you can book a larger venue but you also have to split the revenue....

Some stations have an email for requests but I always doubt that they get read. Most effective request method is request contests -- these result in spins and, when it is for a new song, do seem to influence adds. After that, I believe that a phone call to a local station is most effective. *** What I am doing..... I have picked 6 target local stations. I have checked their websites, Facebook pages, and twitter account to figure out an attack plan for each station. Two are phone request stations, 3 are pushing their FB accounts, and the last station is mysterious to me. For the mysterious one, I am doing Mediabase requests, FB, Twitter and phone.
