Since a Maxi Single is a Single with more than the usual a-side b-side 2 songs then the only thing I can figure is that the physical EP is being classed as a maxi single and the inclusion of the free download available on the 16th allowed it to chart on the current chart rather than having to wait until the actual physical copies shipped. It's the only thing that would explain both the Hot Single Sales and Hot Dance Single Sales chart positions. This is interesting, I wonder if they only counted the physical EP sales towards the Hot Single Sales charts then and didn't include downloads? I didn't buy a physical copy but would have if I'd known it could help, lol. I wonder how close that #2 was to a #1? |

So you think the DL on AO counted in place of the hardcopy (which wouldn't ship in time for first week sales)? Would that have counted towards the BB200 too? Because if so I'm even more gobsmacked that it didn't make the BB200 chart.

Hope I'm understanding correctly what you said. No, she is saying the EP is counting as a physical single. And because we got a DL last week, they are able to count the sales of the EP (as a physical single, not an album) this week. But it is all speculation. NNo one has figured this out yet. I did not know that WWFM was a #1 as a physical single also. And we knwo there was no physical single of WWFM, so maybe counting the EP as a single is exactly what happened. Very confusing. Wish Fred Bronson could explain it. |
