If Trespassing doesn't hit (and right now it is basically going nowhere) then what more could RCA milk from this project in the US? They clearly are not putting any more resources into it, and all signs point to no more videos/singles. Is it in Adam's best interests to wait another two years before getting something new out? Hopefully RCA is working on things---maybe they will look for a collaboration, maybe they will go back to Max Martin, who knows? I love Trespassing, critics love it. But, people didn't hear it, they still aren't hearing it.And unless it somehow gets a Grammy nom, that isn't changing. Basically, he needs a hit song so that doors in this country start opening again. And at this point, I don't care if it's a MM leftover, just get him a hit song. And just to clarify, I never said that he couldn't do a Trespassing tour. I fully believe that he could go out and fill small to mid-size venues all over. But, I just question if it's really in his best interest to take a lot of time to do this right now. It's an interesting time right now. I think it is transition time for Adam as this era's buzz is kind of fading. I am glad we can all discuss this. Lots of opinions, but we all just want Adam to be successful

<quote deleted> What? There is everything to feel good about I think we are all sad that Trespassing wasn't what we had hoped it would be commercially. But, Adam's career is just beginning. There are awesome things ahead, it is just a matter of which path Adam and the label take to get there. On the positive side, hopefully everyone on Adam's team has learned a lot from this era. They are navigating new waters here. A lot must be trial and error, but the good thing is that is seems nobody is ready to give in.

Can't agree more. I wrote this in the dark thread, but since the discussion is taking place here I am going to venture into my question here: WHY will anyone expect the next project to be received by the US radio/TV better than the EXCELLENT, critically acclaimed TP? Which leads me to the "creative control" discussion: IMO RCA involvement is the ingredient that incapacitated the whole project, i.e. it is THEIR choice of the lead and the second singles that pretty much killed the album so far. BTIKM sorta kinda made sense as a transition from WWFM, but the NCOE abomination was inexcusable. I have a strong feeling that it was shoved down Adam's throat. - again that's just my feeling ... RCA should stay as far as possible from Adam's creativity, but I do understand it is their $s....hope they are smart next time around. I really hope that the release of TP is not too late to make an impression. Both, the song and the remixes, are superb and should resonate with kids in the US and EU. HAVE YOU MADE YOUR MORNING REQUESTS? Exactly! You probably said better what I was about to post. Critics love the album. We love the album. RCA just didn't get the single releases right at all. :( I think there is a lot more to it than that. We don't know what went on behind the scenes. Maybe the label was told early on by a few influential stations that they wouldn't spin Trespassing. Personally, I think poor timing all around hurt the album. Add to that the lack of a lead-off single that "worked."

I think I need to go back to bed today.....Not feeling good about all of this....sadz.....I wanna scream....I wanna cry....I wish I had Romney's money so I could make it all better for Adam. What? There is everything to feel good about I think we are all sad that Trespassing wasn't what we had hoped it would be commercially. But, Adam's career is just beginning. They are navigating new waters here. A lot must be trial and error, but the good thing is that is seems nobody is ready to give in. RCA wants to make money. It's always about money. Look at Xtina, her album tanked, she got the Voice, which wasn't her finest hour, but it was exposure, now look she is taking off. Adam needs the same, but what is it that will give him that exposure? I am NOT down about Adam, I think he has got some terrific stuff going on right now that provides him with an outlet to express himself and make money.....BUT.I.WANT.IT.ALL.AND.I.WANT.IT.NOW

Thought I was in the Dark Side for a minute there I don't think this discussion needs to be relegated to the "Dark side." Adam's own words opened the discussion, and there is nothing "dark" about looking ahead. He is still working the album internationally, but I think the label may consider the era to be winding down.

This has to be a tought position for Adam to be in.
knowing his TP CD is not getting the kudos he expected or wanted since he worked to hard on this project.
So how does one go about finding "new material" to record? Write about the non exception of the music industry???
Gads, I think this is tough. What direction will he go? Pop dancey? IDK.
I don't want to give up on TP just yet either...
