I just had a vision of Adam singing "Loving Arms" with Rita Coolidge. I would melt if that happened.

Adam will be participating in Cyndi Lauper's Home for the Holidays benefit concert in New York on December 8. www.truecolorsfund.org/homefortheholidays/The duet possibilities would be A-MAY-ZING!! SARAH MCLACHLAN WHOOPI GOLDBERG ADAM LAMBERT ROSIE O'DONNELL ROBERTA FLACK ST. VINCENT RITA COOLIDGE ALEXIS KRAUSS OF SLEIGH BELLS HUNTER VALENTINE ANDY COHEN AND MORE Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays is a star-studded benefit concert on Saturday, December 8th at New York City's historic Beacon Theatre to help raise awareness about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness and support the True Colors Fund's Forty to None Project. Last year's inaugural concert was a sold out success and the audience of over 2,800 enjoyed performances from music and comedy icons, including Norah Jones, Lou Reed, Wanda Sykes, Cassandra Wilson, Alan Cumming, Jon Secada, Clay Aiken, Chely Wright and many more. "When I first learned that up to 40 percent of all homeless youth in this country identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender I was shocked and saddened," remarked Lauper, co-founder of the True Colors Fund. "For far too long homeless youth have not received the attention, resources and funding necessary to bring an end to this epidemic. My hope is that through this inspiring evening of music and comedy we can raise awareness and much needed funds to help these young people through our newly launched Forty to None Project." It is estimated that up to 40 percent of all homeless youth identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, yet only up to 5 percent of the general youth population do the same. The True Colors Fund's Forty to None Project is committed to doing what it can to raise awareness about this issue and develop resources to help these young people, most of whom are homeless due to family conflict. (MORE) fan club pre-sale tomorrow! If anyone gets the code - PLEASE, please PM me!!! I am dying here! It's been my dream for years to see Adam on the Beacon stage, even as part of a larger concert.... A great venuew and it is literally 5 mins walk from me... www.ticketmaster.com/event/1D004954E66276E0

And yet, even with their interest they refused to play it. Radio probably showed the most interest in NCOE because of the Bruno connection and because it's a generic/safe song choice. IMO what RCA/Adam/his management need to do is stop courting US RADIO and start working the European market with his dance music. Break him internationally in the same way Gaga was broken internationally when US radio wouldn't touch her music. Adam selling out and making commerical/radio friendly crap is not the answer IMO. He needs to stick to what he loves and where his passion is. Even if RCA drops him I have no doubt another label would pick him up and perhaps they would know how to properly promote him and his vision. I just watched the Katy Perry movie and she had the same problem of the label not knowing how to promote her and she finally went to a label who let her do her thing and they went to work for HER and not for themselves and she took off. Adam needs that same thing. I think the better route for Trespassing is Canada, AU and NZ -- and via radio not clubs. IMO Canada deserves the credit for LG's first hit. Not Europe. If I have to pick -- I give it to Canada because it moved from Canada radio to US radio. Of the first 40 radio adds for Just Dance, 45 were in Canada, 5 in US. "Just Dance", LG's first hit, was a club hit in the US Summer of 2008, US radio started to play in July 2008. It entered the BB Hot 100 August 16, 2008 -- peaked in January 2009 at #1. It was a radio hit in Canada and AU, then US and NZ months before it was released in the UK and EU. It was released in Europe in 2009.* * The exception was France where it was released early but I do not believe it sold much. France release 13 June 2008: itunes.apple.com/fr/album/just-dance-remixes-feat-colby/id282303452

Q3, I think I agree with every single one of your points. (Including the appeal of Naked Love which has a hook in the first notes) I agree with all of them, too, except for Naked Love. Adam is gay. The title and lyrics to Naked Love would have hurt it on radio. I'm sure there will be a US tour and a third album. May the tour be short, and may the album get done asap, as disappearances and delays are counterproductive. Also (imho) he needs exposure more than a tour or a third album.

Adam said in that long ago interview with Lyndsey Parker that success will bring opportunities to experiment and take risks. Nobody should fault him if he and the label decide to go a more commercial route for the next album. If he can somehow establish himself with a few CHR hits, it will allow for a song like Trespassing or Shady to have a chance. Bruno released a very different, retro song and it is getting played because he has established himself. He could release Trespassing and have it get 50 adds on day one. Sometimes you have to play the game a little in order to give yourself those opportunities to expand and experiment in the future. Give up a little now to hopefully gain a lot down the road. Eta---cyndi's benefit should be a lot of fun, I would die for a duet (Sarah please!) Adam already went the safe route IMO with WWFM, IIHY, BTIKM and NCOE.... if those songs weren't able to establish him then I don't know what they will come up with next album to satisfy whatever faux guidelines they are holding Adam to (that they aren't holding others to). Him releasing bland pop music isn't the answer IMO.

OMG, based on this, Bieber and Taylor Swift are going to be around forever. and We grew up in the Rock age, and that's why Adam resonates with us. I grew up during New Wave/Punk age.... Adam can and does resonate with people of all generations not just those who cut their teeth on classic rock IMO.
