SQUEEEE!!! milestougeaux: Having fun watching Sia and Ad creating music in studio.... Diggin this field trip Does anybody have an idea how the whole songwriting/recording thing works? Because he's tweeted about being in the studio with Nikka Kosta, Sia and a couple other people. He can't be recording duets with all them, can he? Do you think they are doing demos to submit to RCA and then he will re-record the chosen ones with a different producer? And does each individual song have a different producer who then lines up the musicians? I wonder if he will work with Monte and the gang on most of the songs or just a few and who decides that sort of thing. Anyone? Kanadie? Buehler? Sia could be writing with/for Adam and he is in the studio making the demos to present to his label. I was under the impression that he was actually singing with Nikka. (I'm not sure if that's right or not.) Monte and the gang are part of the touring band. Unless Adam records a song that he and Monte write together, Monte wouldn't have any reason to be in the studio. Adam is a solo artist, and because of that, they will use studio musicians for his recordings.

The first time I met Adam was the week after Idol at his first CBS Early Show appearance (May '09). It was also the first time I met nica575. We decided to meet at 7am. Then I got a call from her to meet at 6 am. Then another call for 5am. When the phone rang again I just said name the time and I'll be there. We met at 3:30 am. This was Adam's first public appearance. It drew a decent sized crowd, maybe on the small side for for NYC. Probably about 200 people, perhaps a little more. There were no lines around the block and a lot of people showed up at the last minute. We were right in the front, about a dozen feet from where Adam was standing at the piano. As he came out he walked down the barricade and signed autographs but stopped b4 he got to us. He still walked right by us on the way out and on the way back. Adam had such a presence you just couldn't take your eyes off of him. During sound check, if he even shifted his posture, the audience went crazy. Someone called out to him to smile, and he did. *dead*. *screams*. It was also my first up close view of the glambulge. Yes, even with loose pants it made it's presence known. Rickey's group (remember him?) was on the other side of the piano from us and you could hear them giggling. The giggling also made it to Rickey's video. Good times. edit: nica575, I only remember him singing Mad World and sitting there for the interview. Did he sing something else too? Yikes, how can I not remember? At the May 26, 2009 CBS Early Morning Show Adam sang Mad World two times -- one live rehearsal and one broadcast version. He also appeared on CBS EMS November 24, 2009 (after AMA's) -- performed WWFM and Music Again. This was the show that Leila was on, and Adam looked gorgeous. This is one of my fav all time Adam interviews -- crappy video quality but.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al-i2_GV7EQ I know about the two Mad World's - one was sound check (it wasn't really a rehearsal) and I spoke about it above. I was also at the November CBS Early show. I was sitting right behind him. Maybe you never noticed my PastaBaby sign that is in many pictures. (even Ferras tweeted me about it.) Here it is - wish I knew how to embed. cache.daylife.com/imageserve/00BL6pGgUl5kd/610x.jpgI was also at the free Rockefeller Ctr concert a couple of days after the first CBS concert. I was also outside Letterman at the barricades the week of the AMA's. I live in Manhattan; if Adam is here - I'm on it! I just walk on over.

So happy thinking of Adam "buzzing with delight" and of his dad getting to watch the process that got him there. What a nice series of tweets that is.
And speaking of "buzzing with delight," thanks, Q3, for linking back to that early show performance. Adam looked so wonderfully bright and happy that day, grinning his way through Music Again, smiling through the interviews, truly uncontainable. Buzzing.
The youtube you posted didn't have the interview that preceded the performances, where the host goes over the AMA thing with him, and I'm NOT trying to dredge up the whole AMA discussion (so I won't post the video, but its easy to find on the tube) but I just watched it again for the first time and I'm just floored at how good he is. This was a the start of his career, and even after the Idol tour he'd done mostly soft-ball press junkets, and almost no live television interviews, and the woman was really going after him trying to get an admission of guilt and an apology, and he managed not to give her one whilst not sounding in the least bit defensive (a feat I should have thought was impossible) and still owning his performance and sounding fully aware and responsible, and not avoiding any question or topic. It really was a masterful job with a hazardous situation, and he did it all with the brightest "buzzing" smile on his face. What a natural pro. In some ways, it really couldn't be any less of a surprise that he's now surrounded by his first choice of eager peers in the studio who themselves buzz about how wonderful he his, producing fantastic music for Adam 2. OF COURSE HE IS.
By the way, thanks to all of you who've posted your up-close-and-personal w/Adam experiences tonight--I've loved reading them. I've seen him perform live a number of times, but never up close off stage, so it's been very nice learning about it. (Hoopla, loved your story with the older lady.) Many of you say how much slighter and more delicate he seems in person, which I fully believe (I did see Monte and Longineu up close before a couple of shows, and that rule held for them, too--much smaller in person)--but it really interests me, because ON STAGE (and I've gotten pretty close to the stage a number of times, though not right up front) he's really LARGER THAN LIFE, all long legs and broad shoulders and charisma and attitude he seems a fabulous goliath. Shows how much of an entertainer he really is, and how much power he pours into those shows.

Late again, LOL. As far as GNAFLS' real life presence compares to his vids. I didn't get any M&Gs, but saw him up close at Providence barricades. I was too mesmerized to attempt to talk to him, so I just watched from 2nd row. He was funny, cool, focused, considerate, and is more beautiful than a vid, or pic can capture. (if that's possible) When he was scanning the crowd, and caught my eye, briefly, it was both disconcerting, and calming. Kind of hypnotic. At Concord was waiting at buses before concert, but didn't know anyone else. Fans were waiting for him to come out of the bus, but I'm the only one that spotted him! He had his back to us, exited very quickly with his ball cap, and back pack. It was some distance, but I recognized that cute arse right away. Kept it to myself, though. It was my little moment, and didn't want to share. Eventually, everyone gave up, and left. But I left with a huge smile on my face.

I thought weepy girl with Adam was a Photoshop job. I don't remember her crying with Adam. I do remember that she actually auditioned for Idol.

For those of you who know how to make GIFS ~ can you make one for me - of this YouTube video?! From 1:03 to 1:12 approx. ;D
Thanks! ;D ETA - basically, I want from 1:10 to 1:11 or 1:09 to 1:12 of the video - I know it's quite a quick catch - I know someone here can get it! Thanks in advance!!!! I'm not nearly as good as some of the other ninja's around here, but I made a quick one for you, Kapsiz. (I don't pay for an account at gifsoup, so I can't get very high resolution, I'm afraid). You may want a better one, but how's this for now?
