Jeff Flake wins the senate seat in AZ (and a more aptly named person does not exist--he's a douche). The democratic candidate won senate in NM -- yay, New Mexico!
That's no surprise! Our state has always been a republican state. My father-in-law joked to my hubby that he's out of his will now, 'cuz he voted for Obama. ;D Maybe Kyrsten can pull it off!

Just listening to Paul Begala on CNN. Tonight I have been reminded of what happened years ago in the UK.Here the Republicans have lost the moderate independents. In the UK in the 70s the Labour party moved so far to the looney left that it became unelectable. The result was that it had to regroup and eventually become more moderate - ala Tony Blair. Although the popular vote is close in this election it would seem that something similar has happened and that the Republicans need to reevaluate if they are to become more in line with moderate popular opinion as both demographics and peoples attitude towards social issues change and move forward. Ok, election done. So proud of all you guys in my adopted home. Now I will get off my soap box and go back to lurking.

Breathing easily again. So relieved that Obama gets a 2nd term. So grateful that women's rights have another four years of protection. Ecstatic that we have a president who supports my belief that I should be able to marry my partner. And he is about to give his speech.....Blessed Be.

Coming out to a Stevie Wonder song. I really do love my President. I am thrilled I get to say, believe and feel this for another four years.
