This is a very Democratic board. I am sorry that you never took the time to post before your last two.

Because she was ranting about her husband and I think some misplaced grammar, had her statement come out wrong. She wrote that "she can't totally disagree with him" meaning she felt there was some truth as to what he said. And when someone countered her by saying they believed that younger voters were some of the most informed out there, she stated that she stood corrected. And by the way, lest anyone think I'm a complete troll, I love Adam, etc., etc., but after hearing so much BS that minorities voted for Obama because of the theory that 'they want free stuff' that's been bandied about by the conservative media after the election, and the idea the minorities have no skin in the game regarding tax increases because they don't pay taxes, this is the straw that broke the camel's back and I decided to post. If I'm not banned for my comments here, I will definitely endeavor to make most of my upcoming posts about Adam. You won't be banned for your comments! Read the complete thread and you'll see that the sentiment here is definitely leaning far to the left. Speaking for myself, I'm completely fed up with the tea party component of the Republican party and their subtle--and sometimes blatant--racism, and I can't even begin to express how happy I am that Obama prevailed. I'll always be a Democrat, and root for the Democrats, but it's really sad to see what the Republican party has become. It's as if the moderate Republicans are afraid to speak up when the lunatic fringe in their party claims to represent them.

We, husband and I, are registered Republicans who have voted Democratic for the last ten years, at least. We didn't leave the Republican party, they left us. We cannot condone or agree with hateful rhetoric directed towards any group of people. We now vote with the party of inclusion, as we feel that since we are all created by the same Maker, we are all equal. We cannot and will not condone the exclusion of any minority in this country. Guess we should change our voter registration huh. ;D

The hate speech makes me hesitant to express opinions or even put a campaign sign up in my yard. Back when the Iraq war started, lots of people were gathering on bridges in support of peace not war. One of the local Republican elected town officials decided to aim his truck at people on the bridge in my town. There were only a few bruises, but that made me very wary of people who are buying into the hate. It was very unnerving. On the other hand, Maine voted for gay marriage, and a church that was opening dissenting it was vandalized with swastikas. Not good on either extreme.

And from what I've seen, since Tuesday, the repubs still aren't getting it. They seem to have found every excuse in the book for why they lost, except their policies and platform! :-/

If I'm not banned for my comments here, I will definitely endeavor to make most of my upcoming posts about Adam. If you read the whole thread, I am a die-hard liberal Democrat, that voted for Obama. I was discussing my husband who has been quite upset since the election, but has calmed down since. He definitely believes that Obama was voted in by students and minorities. They had a big part in the vote, but Obama was also supported by many more people for varying reasons. I had to agree with my husband, to agree, that students and minorities did vote for Obama. Yes my language was nt the greatest, but I do a lot of drive by posts, and don't always have the time to contribute. But trust me I am not a person that you insist I am.. I knew that students and young ones are well informed and posted as such. I did not stand corrected. I was just imparting what my husband said. Please do not condemn me, for a few misplaced words and read the whole damn thread, before shooting me. Thank you.
