hee hee - I think yours is the grown-up way to look at it.
Even tho I think an arm-shoulder-body full of tats is hideous, it IS Adam and he's gonna do what he's gonna do.
Still love what's underneath all those tats.

I love the fluidity of the design - was never a fan of the key tattoo and didn't like the placement. I think this will really look good when he's moving.

The monochrome colour scheme and some of the shading reminds me of toile de jouy but on skin. Here's hoping he wears more tank tops and fewer jackets!

~ The left eye on the tattoo is the eye of Buddha. Buddha's Eyes, also known as Wisdom Eyes, are a symbol for the all-seeing wisdom.



Here you can see also the spiral above his eyes, as on Adam's tat. The Spiral is a common natural form and an ancient mystical symbol. It represents the forces and patterns underlying creation, as well as evolution and self-transformation.



Random guesses:

~ The eye on the right is a woman's eye on the first glance. Assuming that this tat represents a water nymph (a female spirit) which are called Naiads in Greek mythology or, even if Adam didn't mention it, Ved'avas in Finnish:

Ved-ava is a water deity, common to several Baltic and Finno-Ugric peoples traditionally dependent on fishing. She is also sometimes associated with fertility. She is generally depicted as a water creature resembling a mermaid, ... and is sometimes said to play or sing, seducing humans with her music.

~ The right eye could also belong to Adam Lambert, whose eyes are as beautiful - he is a water-bearer by astrology sign, so he can be a male counterpart to a water goddess. a water god:)

~ Flowers and leaves symbolize Mother Nature or Gaia (Gea) in Greek mythology, her fertility and as a source of all things; Gaia is most commonly represented with leaves and flowers on her hair and face. She was the goddess or personification of Earth in ancient Greek religion, one of the Greek primordial deities. Gaia was the great mother of all.

~The horns stand for a ram, since he is an Aries Moon. In pagan symbolism, the Horned God(dess) is associated with nature, wilderness, sexuality, hunting and the life cycle. Also, since I still haven't found the balance symbol, they seem the most logical choice for it.

~ The water coming out of the mouth can represent not only his Aquarius Sun, but also the symbol of the great cycle of life, like water circles in nature.

I am so happy Adam did not take anything else other than his personal preferences, desires, likings and thoughts into consideration. I'm happy he got this tattoo. His gorgeous eighty year old self will just have to embrace his gorgeous thirty year old self when the time comes for it and I know it's not going to be a difficult task at all. The tattoo will tell him the same stories it tells us now. It's beautifully done by a master, so symbolic and intricate, a fitting ornament for Adam's fabulous body. He plans to do a sleeve, he said that once. Can't wait. The only thing I wish he didn't do is share such a personal story with the world, but I guess he just doesn't give a fuck what anyone else thinks about the tat...so, go, Adam!!!!
