I hope you do too because it is so true. It is stunning and shocking the first time you hear his voice live. But beware it is addictive. That has to be the reason I have flown all over the US and to 5 countries to see Adam.<picture a wacky Seoulmate GIFs here!!> FIVE COUNTRIES???!!!!!!!!!!!!OK... Canada, England, and.... ???????

Ya know, when BTIKM first came out it was hard to find a bad comment about it (cue natllampoons raised hand) then when it didnt go so well it seemed everyone knew it wouldn't from the start. Then NCOE. Less loved the song but most thought it was very radio friendly. Now? Well.... I hate it when you guys do this BUT I'm going to join you this time. They should have listened to the British dj's and to us. Most people here called Cuckoo from the start. It was the obvious choice, and the wise theory on relatablity also works on this one IMO, especially with the teen market. Shady is my favorite but it would never had made it. You will actually find a few fans (including me) who were publicly critical of the BTIKM single choice and strategy at the time. But my impression is that most fans believed that it was most important to publicly supportive Adam while the sent private messages complaining about the choice. I know that I waited for almost 2 months before I posted my opinion about the miss. We live in a time where upbeat themed music dominates Pop radio. There are a few exceptions, like Adele, but from Katy Perry to Carley to fun -- we are almost doing summer songs year round. That would point to Naked Love and Cuckoo as the tracks that are more in line with the time. Wading in ... I agree. I think a lot of people held back on openly criticizing the choice of BTIKM in order to be supportive of Adam. For what it's worth, I think these are the main mistakes made re: Trespassing: - Adam waited too long to release a second album. I respect the artistic process, but music is a business, too. Trespassing should have been released in 2011, ideally in enough time to take advantage of holiday sales. Music consumers have a short attention span these days and I don't think that someone like Adam who is still at the start of his career should have been out of the spotlight with no new material for such a long period of time. - I agree with those who said BTIKM was a poor choice of lead single (I'll avoid reiterating the reasons). - The launch of BTIKM was bizarre. The record was released on Itunes without any fanfare right before Christmas, and by the time radio play started sales had petered out and it was too late to get it back up the charts. Maybe the best launch campaign wouldn't have been able to save BTKIM, but it seems to me that both the timing and lack of publicity nailed its coffin shut. But enough of that -- onward and upward! I'm hoping that RCA and Adam have learned some lessons, and we'll get to hear some new music from Adam next year.

albiku, the first time I heard Adam was at Idol for the night of the Born To be Wild performance. I wasn't the only one stunned. The audience reaction was incredible! When I got back home and watched the show, I was surprised to find out that they actually adjusted his applause & screams to not make him look so OTT far better received than everyone else! Interesting. The fact that they adjusted the applause and screams to be more in line with everyone else is probably why people felt the judges were overpraising him.

[/IMG]
On the contrary, release the most radio friendly songs, which they were afraid to release. I don't care at all about what I consider good or not, it's irrelevant, but I think they missed on some very radio friendly songs because they thought radio would be afraid of them, or the listeners will. No guts no glory.

Maybe so, but in regards to touring, I think they've scheduled some tour but the sales were not good so they have to cancel. I hope Adam and DMG will plan small number of tour in the US, not as many as GNT and I know he still can sell the seats. Kris Allen just announced a tour (albeit small venues, but a tour nonetheless). If he can do it, why not Adam? Adam's album sold more than his and Adam still has a label. But Kris Allen doesn't have a third album to make. He can take all the time he wants touring, he has nothing else. I am sure Adam will fit some one-offs into his schedule.

You actually went to Idol? :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: I've watched some videos from the Idols Live tour. The crowd's reaction to Adam was incredible! I don't know how the other contestants were received, but the ovations for Adam were... wow.

Some of us (me) did not want to inject a downer note to Adam's initial release, but I do have PMs to prove my initial reaction. I do think the video was brilliant though. I thought it was beautiful on headphones but when I heard it on the radio in the car I had to turn the volume down. Whatever they did to the radio edit did not come over well on my car speakers. Once I got the album I was able to play it in the car without probs. If we look at WWFM as the song on FYE with the hook, then Cuckoo was the one from Trespassing. Oh wellz. It was/is a beautiful album. It's sold as well as Xtina's which has been out over a year longer. He's still making hay while the sun shines.

He's really a great musician.

Yeah, I also read someone mentioned/commented this in EW or Idol forum during the S8. That's the first time I read that his voice LIVE's 10x better than what we heard on TV, but Fox and Idol Producers had to adjust the audio for Adam's performances and all the receptions he got from the audiences in the studio so the gap between him and the other contestants wouldn't look too big. And off course I witnessed it the first time on S8 Idol Tour. phew.. the voice and the receptions he got . I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to hear anything after the show. ;D
