Of course! it's the record label's place to decide on whether or not moving on to the next chapter or trying to stay on and squeeze some more out of the current project, not the artist, I mean, there might have been some input from the artist but not his shot to call!
And, just to be fair to Xtina, her last album, Bionic, has only sold a little over 300k in the US but overall 750,000 copies worldwide as of end of 2011.
adamme, not sure if you're referring to Xtina or Adam with your touring comment, but I don't recall Xtina actively planning a Bionic tour back in 2010 before or after the album release, as for Adam, IMO, touring or "non-touring" has always been in the cards, it's his ultimate livelihood ! Hi. Christina did have a tour planned in 2010 -- I know because I bought tickets to her show at Irvine Amphitheatre, which was subsequently cancelled along with the rest of the tour. At the time, Christina claimed that with the upcoming release of the film "Burlesque" and the need to do PR for the film, etc. she didn't have enough time to prepare the tour. However, some people speculated that the poor sales of Bionic and/or the tour were to blame. More info on the tour cancellation: voices.yahoo.com/christina-aguilera-cancels-2010-bionic-tour-6099208.htmlMy bad! Should always google when the memory is fuzzy. Haha ETA: she's a great performer/singer like Adam, and album sales really don't have much correlation to a successful tour so maybe it was a conflict of some sort.

I hope you do too because it is so true. It is stunning and shocking the first time you hear his voice live. It's so difficult to imagine it! I think my mind can't believe that there can be such a big difference between a recording and a live performance. :dunno: But everyone says it, so it must be true!!! And I NEEEEEED to see him live!!! I'm getting antsy and impatient. ;D

I hope you do too because it is so true. It is stunning and shocking the first time you hear his voice live. But beware it is addictive. That has to be the reason I have flown all over the US and to 5 countries to see Adam. <picture a wacky Seuolmate GIFs here!!> It's already addictive! I already need my daily Adam fix in the shape of new performances, new streams, new pics, new interviews... I can't get out of this rabbit hole!

[/IMG]
Well frankly, it is not like the little, radio friendly balls are breaking down the barricades! I have forgotten the exact wording of the saying that goes something like "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"... eta How many of us would have known what Shady was about if he had not explicitly told us???

Ya know, when BTIKM first came out it was hard to find a bad comment about it (cue natllampoons raised hand) then when it didnt go so well it seemed everyone knew it wouldn't from the start. Then NCOE. Less loved the song but most thought it was very radio friendly. Now? Well.... I hate it when you guys do this BUT I'm going to join you this time. They should have listened to the British dj's and to us. Most people here called Cuckoo from the start. It was the obvious choice, and the wise theory on relatablity also works on this one IMO, especially with the teen market. Shady is my favorite but it would never had made it. Some of us (me) did not want to inject a downer note to Adam's initial release, but I do have PMs to prove my initial reaction. I do think the video was brilliant though.

albiku, the first time I heard Adam was at Idol for the night of the Born To be Wild performance. I wasn't the only one stunned. The audience reaction was incredible! When I got back home and watched the show, I was surprised to find out that they actually adjusted his applause & screams to not make him look so OTT far better received than everyone else!

Maybe so, but in regards to touring, I think they've scheduled some tour but the sales were not good so they have to cancel. I hope Adam and DMG will plan small number of tour in the US, not as many as GNT and I know he still can sell the seats. Tours have almost nothing to do with album or single sales. Adam has already filled up venues of between 3K-6500K in the US. Adam sells tickets and fills seats. That's what tours are about. Now, can RCA say, we want you back in the studio for your 3rd album instead of toruing? Yes, I think they can. But it would make no sense for them to not want him to be visible and doing other things at the same time that he is recording. I predict that Adam will not be sequestered away for almost ayear while he works on album #3! If he's going to tour in the US, I think he work on his 3rd album while he's touring. Just like after Idol. Maybe in 6-9 months we will get new album?
