I just explained to a close friend how deeply upsetting it is to me that Adam uses the word, upsetting to the point where I might stop being a fan altogether, and she just looked at me and said "Well, the gay community has not evolved as far as the black community when it comes to this kind of offensive solidarity term. You'll just have to understand that if you want to continue being a fan." Your friend sounds pretty unevolved herself. Sorry, but it's pretty fucking ignorant to lump an entire community into a group based on one individual's comment that offends you. In fact, I'd say that her entire statement reeks of ignorance not to mention just being laughable. Adam took the tweet off twitter..

I dunno
No one cares if you being silly and stupid in private. BUT, he DID use an extremely inappropriate word in public this time.. many ladies who saw the word would get very upset.. even though he absolutely did not mean that...
Well Adam...

Did someone tweet him about it? I mean, he took it down, so someone must have said something to him.
Well, the word didn't offend me. But then, I might not get the nuances of that word because English isn't my first language. :dunno:

PopMatters Picks: The Best Music of 2012 The Best Pop Singles of 2012 (Dec 17, 2012) www.popmatters.com/pm/feature/166433-the-best-pop-singles-of-2012/“Never Close Our Eyes” was one of the most underrated crowning achievements of the year and the perfect melting pot of all the different shades of Adam Lambert’s music. It is not only a pulsing techno/club raver, but an intelligent ballad as well. Unlike other party tracks that travel into a seedy message of impending doom, this presents the point of view of an all-night partier who isn’t crying out for help, but just wants to enjoy every moment he has. There’s a subtle touch of romance in the lyrics as well, as it is not “my” eyes being referred to, but “our” eyes instead.

He took the tweet down, probably realizing his mistake..Adam has explained that words are just words that it's the intent behind them that gives them meaning.. He had a George Carlin moment.

I'm sure that a man raping a woman is likely to use the word "fuck" too. Should we stop referring to Adam as Adam Fuckin' Lambert? I don't believe that any collection of letters is automatically evil. Context and intent have to be considered. I don't believe for one moment that Adam harbors any animosity toward women. It can take a long time for a word to lose the emotional attachment we put on it, but I'm just floored by the notion that someone would consider not being a fan anymore because Adam used a word which, in his circles, is not thought of as insulting. I know it's a touchy subject but I prefer to pay attention to Adam's heart and not his vocabulary.

It's still there if you hit "all" instead of "no replies." I think it may have been a DM gone awry.
