People are upset about a word he used? And actually considering stop being a fan??? Really??? I don't get it. What's so offensive? It's just a body part, isn't it? So we can talk and joke about his dick 24/7, but when it's vise versa, boom, offensive??? And btw, he didn't tweet to us women, he tweeted it to his gay drag queen friend!!! Yes, the public could see it. So what? That's his choice. If ever anything happened (really doubt that), he will and has to deal with it. Some people just too sensitive and over protective. He's a free spirit, remember? That's the main thing I love about him apart from his voice. I hope he won't take that tweet down.

Skylar's friend was using the African American analogy re taking back the sting of a word and their referring to each other as "n###er....note, as a caucasion person, I KNOW that I do not have the right to use that word without risking offending someone. The gay community as done the same thing with their hate words of F#G, F##ot etc, as well as appropriating the term Queer. That is their right. Following the lead of the black and the gay communities, only the referenced demographic can use to diffuse the offending word..in this case CUNT [note, I feel I can use this word as it is MY nasty word to use. If they are using this term for themself, they are essentially taking a word that is not "theirs" to take. The word is the ultimate offence to a woman....they have no right to use it and claim they were not 'intending' to offend. It is offensive. Do you suppose Adam would call members of his band "ni##ers", on twitter, and not expect to have offended them and fans....frankly, I do not see the difference. It is just that women are not supposed to get overtly offended .... they are to play nice and make like they just did not know better, and/or did not really mean that. That being said...I personally would not leave the fandom over that....We feel pretty certain he did not mean to offend, but he did offend many...and I sure would also not condemn anyone else for feeling that offended.This is not the time, in my humble opinion, to start that old "I am a better fan than you because I am not offended or I love him unconditionally". We all love him because he is fabulous in countless ways. ... and fabulous is a condition...if he turned into a wgwg to make more money, many of us may silently and sadly drift away....which suggests we do have conditions....and happily he meets and exceeds every one of them..... Excellent point. Really. Explains alot to me about all the other words too. |

Thanks Skylar and Alison...no offense taken albiku. We all draw our preferred lines in our own sand and those lines and the sand differs for each of us. I am actually more offended by the continual calling our and putting down of other fans because they do not think the same as another....their sand lines differ...as if fan stanning were a zero sum game. All is well. We all love the same wonderful man and we have so much to celebrate at the moment... OTT sidebar: I think I must have completely lost my mind. I have spent the last 3 hours going through every box I could think of looking for the fur collar that attaches to my winter coat. I am going where it is cold for xmas so need to haul it out of mothballs...could not find...So in frustration I go to hang the coat up and out of the sleeve falls the fur collar!!!!! Good bloody grief... so I guess that means you can take my words with that proverbial grain of salt...yikes You're going to a place that is colder then where you already are? Hey, I looked all day for my folding table. Looked everywhere. After the 5th or so trip out to the garage, I brought in a wrench.......and layed it down on the folding table that I had been looking for all day -- right there, in my kitchen, walked by it every time I went out to the garage. Adam on my mind..... |

Please let us try to refrain from ad hominum name calling....there is no need to resort to that....it is fair to disagree and make you claims and reasons but not to call people who disagree with you "self-righteous, holier-than-thou word police". It is a free world for all of us...him to say what he wants, and others to be offended..if they are. I don't see anybody here demanding that he remove it... I did not see anyone use the term "woman hater" so please be fair. If there were people on twitter acting all shocked and hurt and offended and demanding he remove it, I stand by my words. |

100% agree with you, albiku! Adam would not use the word ni**er because it is not part of his community. The word cunt and cunty is part of his community, as is Sutan. There is really NO parallel in comparing the 2 words and how they would be used by Adam! Hey, look at this! "Cocky came from cock and cunty came from cunt!" A word generally associated and used in gay society. It means an overwhelming feeling of self-conceit or cockiness.
Associated with many feelings, usually of being a bitch, cocky, conceited, arrogant, obnoxious and the list goes on. Cunty
The female version of cocky. I rest my case...it is the female version. Adam is not a female. If the word carries no gender meaning, then why use it...stick to cocky. I have no problem with that...I don't have one of those.... But he's gay, has a highly evolved feminine side who looks up at the word queen, talking to his friend the winner of the biggest queen show on the planet. I can see why they use it. |

I haven't seen one person on twitter say anything about it. Not one! Everyone I follow has just been flailing about ow excited he is about the show. Skylar, he is going to use the word again. Over the next ten years, he might use it 20 times! If you can't overcome your strong feelings about the word, then I agree. How can you be a fan? |
