Ooooo, nice. I've always had a soft spot for mandolin since it's got the same strings and fingerings as the violin.

From Adam's Instagram: realadamlambertDiet starts tomorrow. Actually, next year. Today I'm eatin dads pancakes. I can't even imagine the taste of maple syrup. I so wish I could. And I assume he is warming it up? I stared at the pancake for good 5 minutes, analyzing the shape. I think I could assume what they would taste like. It is a pancake in the pan, right? Here we have crepes and we eat it with nutella. #culinarydifferences

[/IMG] [/IMG] SO MUCH to see...Adam is a wealth of material is he not??? ;D And Seoulmate, I'd have left you out a bunch of cookies and milk wine if I'd known you'd be up all night to decorate Atop. What a festive place to wake up to. Some of us don't do big holidays, so this was such a treat for me. Serbian food, Cajun music, a Croatian light world..a truly international feast! Glampoon...YAY on your mandolin! Um..the fart putty...just dunno..but you seem so ~happy about it, I can't help but join you! All the sentiments. This is what the holidays are for me..community. May you all enjoy your day whether you celebrate any particular holiday or not! It is my joy to be here. And a BIG OLD HUG to the MODS, baby! You keep Atop runnin' like the little engines that could. And Sauli Central's Mia and Zinnia! My wish for the new year..
All this! And your wish will come true, I know it will I had to google fart putty. Have fun with that, National! Mandolin is such a lovely instrument. It reminds me of a movie, Captain Corelli's Mandolin - so romantic. Perfect for the holidays:)))

Maple syrup is right up there with chocolate in my book. It's made from maple trees which are tapped for their sap which is then boiled down to a syrup. Most of it comes from the province of Quebec in Canada although some Eastern United States produce it as well. I consume at least a gallon a year in my baking, etc. It's the only sweetener I use. I don't usually warm it up though.

OH, Aleks you're precious! Maple syrup is very good, but sweet. Yes, that is a pancake. Usually they're more round in shape, but Eber's looks a little "unique" LOL They're heavier than a crepe....more cake like. The more maple syrup you pour on top, the sweeter they become. Pancakes are popular down here in the South. My favorites are made with buttermilk. A nice breakfast would be a "stack" of buttermilk pancakes (I can't eat more than 2 or 3) a scoop of butter on top, served with maple syrup, with a side of link or patty pork sausage or bacon and a couple of eggs (usually scrambled) You can add your favorites, like blueberries, chocolate chips, etc. to the batter before cooking. Most people eat them plain, with lots of syrup. Yummy!
