I got some serious extra exercise over the last two days. The grooming van had to go to the shop for some maintenance work so rather than pay $20 for the cab ride back to where my car was parked I walked. The distance was about 4.7 miles and compared to when I walked just 2 miles a year or so ago from another repair shop I handled this really well. Having the right shoes and not carrying a purse made it easier as well. When I did the 2 miles that one time it about did me in, but since I have been walking regularly and had gotten up to as much as 3.25 miles in one stretch this longer walk worked out ok. I worked up a good sweat but was not out of breath and my feet are not hurting. YAY!

I am really liking the Earndit site. This is where you can earn credits for your workouts that you can spend on gift cards or donate to charity. I have made two charity donations so far, one to give water to children in Haiti and another to provide medical care for kids in Guatemala. There are several devices or services that can be linked to Earndit to earn credit. Fitbit Endomondo Bodymedia Fit MapMyFitness Everytrail Garmin connect Foursquare RunKeeper Nikeplus If any of you use any of these and would like to check it out use the following link which is my invite link that gives me a referral credit. earnd.it/V7m6RS

Monday - Exercise Ball Situps
This is with that big exercise ball that you can sit on. Go ahead sit on it. Well first make sure you have non-slippery foot gear. Ok now walk your feet out and roll down the ball until the small of your lower back is on the ball. Now for the sit up you try and touch the ceiling with both hands. Yes I know it's not possible that's just the direction and the motion to use. You can also alternate hands. Adjust yourself on the ball until you are comfortable. You will only be able to raise your shoulders off of the ball like you were doing a partial crunch. That' good. Put it on repeat for a couple of sets and then figure out how to get back up. In my case that usually means sliding all the way to the ground.

LOL - all I could envisage is Sauli when I read Exercise Ball Situps - it certainly works for him Thanks for the Monday morning wake up vision jablea

Tuesday - Exercise Ball PushUps
See pics above of Sauli! Yeah, I love it when the topic of the day gets written for me. Ok, I guess I'll go do a few of each.
Only thing to note in those situp pics of Sauli (from yesterday's topic) he has his hands behind his head. Now it looks like he's not pulling on his head, (his elbows are out wide and his fingers are just supporting his head) that's good and it's a position a lot of people use when doing side crunches - ooo new topic. But for those who are working our neck kinks out, the old style of sit ups that many of us where taught had us actually pulling our head up with our elbows and they don't recommend that anymore which is why I'm having you reach for the ceiling instead so that you don't have the temptation to pull on your head instead of just supporting it.
