It just gets me that the studio don't want anything to do with a movie about Liberace and his life, especially with leading roles portrayed by two world-class actors (Michael Douglas & Matt Damon) but they will fork out big money for super violent movies where its blood and guts all over the place. Well done! That's what we rather want our kids to see
As for Adam taking part in Idols, well done to him, he knew that's what will open doors and he took the opportunity. That's was one of the ways to living his dreams. I do not care a bit if people agree with it or not, it worked for him.
Restless, what beautiful memories you have! Just shows you, your adventures today becomes your memories of tomorrow.

mszue, it's the conjones. Such irony that Liberace was good enough for grandma but "too gay" now. Yes, I know supposedly he was "in the closet." What a joke, everyone knew. Speaking of grandma's, mine loved him and he had a show in Canada when I was growing up and we watched him all the time. He was exciting to watch and one hell of a piano player. Effortless! Lots of people worked with him. WOW, have we gone backwards!!!!!! :-[

Full page ad in Hong Kong newspaper for Adam's concert t.co/NLHgEXEvFound his ticket page also, in English www.hkticketing.com/eng/And the promoter's write up: Adam Lambert Live in Hong Kong 2013 After completing his Glam Nation Tour in late 2010, Lambert took his time working on his album, and changed direction in both sound and creative process. Whereas his first album For Your Entertainment featured a glam rock sound, Lambert turned to funk and pop music to create a more dance-oriented record. He also assumed creative control as executive producer of Trespassing and co-wrote most of the songs. Trespassing made its debut in the number one spot on the Billboard 200 album chart on the first week it released. Adam’s talent has been far more eye-catching then his glamorous image.
No matter on or off stage, Adam insist on his personality and his flamboyant, theatrical and androgynous performance style, and yet with a powerful and technically skilled tenor voice. He has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2011. Recently, Adam has participated in several events and award presentations in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macau, and has been widely covered by local and international media. Adam’s new song “Trespassing” has become hot pick of different media and channels. Responding the great enthusiasm from fans of Hong Kong and nearby regions, we are proudly to announce that Adam Lambert Live in Hong Kong at the Star Hall, KITEC on 5 March 2013. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a glamorous concert night. I don't know why but I'm always so happy when media mentioned about his powerful voice and his technic ability. :2tears: :2tears: I haven't got a chance to really read Atop these few days, haven't even read the Vietnam thread. This year end closing's taking alot of my time from Adam. I just have to deal with it for another week.

I don't get it. TV doesn't seem to have any problem offering gay-themed shows (The L Word, Queer As Folk, Rupaul's Drag Race, Will and Grace), shows with openly gay hosts (Ellen, Anderson Cooper, Rachel Maddow), or even major hit network shows with gay characters (Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy, etc.). So (especially in the wake of a hit movie like Brokeback Mountain) it doesn't make sense for movie studios to be so terrified of films with gay themes. And what about that Freddie Mercury bio movie starring Sacha Baron Cohen that's supposed to be in the works? How the hell do they think they're going to portray Freddie's life without mentioning his sexuality?!

Maybe it's not the gay theme. Maybe it's the subject himself. :dunno: I'd see it!

Liberace was such a great performer. He was performing at the first casino show I ever attended when I was just a kid. When I would visit my aunt and uncle in Reno they would take us to a show. We would get all dressed up (my aunt would buy me a new dress) and I would watch my uncle tip the maitre'd so we would get a great table. I felt so sophisticated in the elaborate showroom, elegant dining and then the show. What great memories! A friend of mine confided to me that Adam reminded her of Liberace. Haha. It is sad that tptb don't think America would love to see a well produced movie about one of its great entertainers. Or that others think a story about Liberace is too gay for the masses. What a lovely story and memory! Thank you so much for sharing it. My sister and I went to the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas (worth the trip if you are there) and saw lots of his amazing costumes and other cool stuff (including a couple of cars and his crystal covered piano). My sister the clothing designer was practically crawling over to see how his costumes were made--very funny! He was an amazing performer and also a classically trained musician (sound familiar?) who became a popular icon. Love him! And yes, unless you were blind, it was really obvious he was gay. :
