(AllHipHop News) The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has issued a statement over controversial comments made by rapper Azealia Banks, during a Twitter dispute with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
Azealia Banks is an aspiring rapper, who gets more press for her controversial comments and feuds on the Internet, than she does for her music.
During her latest feud with female rapper Angel Haze, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton commented on the dispute.
Perez Hilton sided with Angel Haze in the feud, which apparently ticked off Azealia Banks, who made several off-color comments about his sexuality.
Azealia Banks labeled Perez Hilton a “messy fa**ot.”
“Regardless of her intent or her personal definition, what matters is the meaning given to that word by those who hear it, and the damage it causes when they do,” GLAAD said in a statement. “Undoubtedly there are gay kids who follow her on Twitter who hear this word in an entirely different context. This word is used almost universally by bullies, often as part of a larger verbal or physical assault. This word hurts those kids, no matter what Banks meant by it.
Azealia Banks later attempted to back pedal over the comments, saying that she was not referring to gay males.

Hollywood Style Scene | Best of 2012 More Than Just Some Music That We Used To Know
Sure there was lots of new music to get into this past year... from pop trash we liked in spite of ourselves (Carly Rae's Call Me Maybe, everything FUN and LMFAO put out) to hipper than thou indie releases by acts we should've/would've liked if we simply wanted to appear cool (Grizzly Bear, Ariel Pink's Haunted Garage) to artists we're still not quite sure how we feel about (Lana Del Rey, Die Antwoord)... 2013's music had some highs and lows alright. We loved Fiona Apple, Frank Ocean and The Black Keys offerings but we were less than impressed by all the music by the over-exposed acts on this list... Ultimately, it was seasoned artists we've loved for years that got our attention in 2012 and are primed to continue doing so this year. Here a list of music makers we couldn't ignore.
4. ADAM LAMBERT - A hot new dance album, hosting VH1's Divas and an appearance on "Pretty Little Liars"... The Glamberts got gobs of their hero this year and they loved every minute of it. So did we.
