Cassie, is the translation always SO loud though?! :( Sigh. Yes, usually. If the source speech is louder it detracts from the translated speech, particularly for those who have some knowledge of both languages. They've conducted experiments of people listening to two competing verbal messages, and it interferes greatly with comprehension. Tho', interestingly, men are much better than women at listening to one message and ignoring the other. (They postulate that is why you can say something to a guy watching football, and he is being truthful later when he says he never heard you. ) |
