Turned it off before the end. :-/ Didn't do it for me either... I love David Bowie! But I lost interest in the song and the video. Maybe I need to listen to it some more. :-/ It is really strange that this song really gets to me and brings me to tears. I really can't explain why. He sings about the time when he lived in Berlin, there are a lot of Berlin spots and points of interests integrated in the lyrics like "Kadewe" (a big mall in Berlin) or "Potzdamer Platz". And the video (which I find kind of strange) plays in Berlin and there is this kind of "lost in space and time feeling" about it. Actually I've been kind of scared to listen to this song for the first time and then I was so relieved that I LOVE it  So everyone has a different access to music!

Turned it off before the end. :-/ Didn't do it for me either... I love David Bowie! But I lost interest in the song and the video. Maybe I need to listen to it some more. :-/ Really? For me, it immediately touched me. I'm no expert of Bowie's biography, but I do know he lived in Berlin for 3 years 1976-79, and during that time he released 3 great and very low-spirited albums (Low, Heroes & Lodger). He started his life there being a heroin addict (you can see for yourselves how he looks in the Heroes MV), but kicked the habbit during his stay. I also read he shared a place there with Iggy Pop for a while, but I don't know the nature of their relationship. So all these years later, it seems to me like this song is looking back on that era, trying to see where he is now, what the connection is between now and then, between who he was and who he is. It must feel like a different incarnation. Trying to integrate the past and present is confusing. I really feel what he's saying (if that's indeed what he's saying lol), even if I hadn't reached his age yet. Mods - I realise this is not the Bowie's life and interpretation thread lol, so if you need to delete, it's no problem

I learned to drive when I lived in Bangkok -- needless to say it was a little different when we returned home to Seattle. I kept turning the wrong direction and was VERY good at cutting in and out.
I'm trying to wean myself from hourly visits to Atop. It's going to be a long six weeks. Heck, I hate the thought of being productive!
