WWFM (pop-rockish) was his big hit & "they" tried following up with similar songs that went in essence nowhere. Where did they? On the BONUS tracks of the Deluxe edition? Give me an album in the spirit of "Runnin'" and I will be a happy camper. In fact, looking at Runnin' and Take Back, I suspect Album #2 could have been very much a Pop-Rock thing if it was not for Pharrell (which wasn't a bad thing). IMHO the problem "they" had was called Dr.Luke and to a certain extent Claude Kelly. And then there was the whole Maypril waiting for NCOE which shouldn't have happened. But Trespassing is largely wonderful as it is, it was just rolled out... strangely. agree! Also, I want to say that I think that Trespassing will eventually pick up speed and get the sales and recognition it deserves. How can it not, after all the great reviews, and the year end placements as one of the best albums of the year? This music is just too good to be ignored. I can't help myself, I just believe!

Great to see you kryptoman! Thanks! I am in lurking mode. I have read every post in the News thread since November 2011 - it is part of my daily routine. I just don't have much to add most of the time given the high quality of posting of the Usual Suspects here

Albiku, you have seen the movie, right? I haven't yet. So, if you want to send a polite, articulate email kindly informing him of Adam's pedigree and the fact that he actually said some very nice things about the movie and recommended it, I say "Go for it, girl." Sorry, I didn't see this, Cassie! Yes, I saw the movie. And I would totally write an e-mail if I wasn't so self-conscious about my English. I could try, but it's so difficult to find the words when English isn't your first language... And it's even more difficult when you're trying to write formal. Okay, maybe I'll try anyway. lol : I don't think he'll read it, though.

Trespassing got good reviews and got Adam major recognition that has taken him much further from the Idol shore and into the endless waters of contemporary music. He began to think like a singer-songwriter as well as a vocalist. He created a love letter to life and all the down-to-earth, real things that he thinks and feels. And thanks to Queenbert, his eyes have been opened to what could be. Trespassing was a bold stroke, and I think it will be followed by work that is even more epic and I hope genre-busting.

Further thoughts on the "pop-rock album" thing - I would love to see a production done as a rock album would be produced. Basically develop the songs with a producer AND a band and record them the way a band would record them (I know Adam is a solo singer, but what I am saying is that if you look at Adam live, his songs have always have a more rock vibe than the album versions). So I would be interested in an approach capturing that "live performance spirit". I know you cannot capture Adam Live on tape, but you can at least try to get closer instead of letting Dr. Luke overproduce his singles. He failed two times - I don't have a personal grudge with him, but I will be mad if I see his name on the singles of Era #3 [/IMG] Now THAT is an Einstein situation!
I have thought for a while now that perhaps he would go pop/rock with the next album. I HOPE so!!! Or maybe this is just me projecting. Why... well, he has done his pop thing twice... and well... On Idol RE" Rock they said he should do that since nobody else was and he would own the space... The time is right - with all the old rockers coming out of the woodworks to do concerts... Rolling Stones, Led Zep.. etc (I listen to rock in my area and there are many more...) and QueenBert that rock is in the media much more right now. He just NEEDS to, cuz I said so... Hahaha, yeah he listens to me :4OMG: And I Love the Trespassing album, but truth be told, by favorite songs are the bonus tracks on the US and international albums. I LOVE Runnin, Take Back, Nirvana, Map, By the Rules. I also wish he would sing Outlaws of Love more live, that is a beautiful song that really shows off his tender, beautiful vocals. Ducking when I say I like it even better than Underneath... Chokehold is great, and really like Pop That Lock, oh and Broken English... well OK, I will stop now, LOL Anyway, I do hope he goes pop/ROCK this time peppered with some funk... We'll see but fun to speculate:-)
