Mackintosh: Lambert's an 'idiot'

Cameron Mackintosh has described Adam Lambert as an "idiot" for his comments about Les Miserables.
The British theatre producer, who produced the long-running stage musical and the Bafta-nominated film, blasted the American Idol singer for his "naive and silly comment".

"What does he know about musical theatre? It was a naive and silly comment. He's an idiot," he said.

Former American Idol contestant Adam blasted the makers of the big screen adaptation on Twitter for casting Hollywood stars such as Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway instead of professional singers, and said vocals should have been recorded in a studio rather than performed live.

Cameron explained: "Good singers could not have given these performances on screen. The camera is cruel - you can get away with much more on stage than you can in the cinema. That's one of the reasons why Alain Boublil and I were so keen to remake our show as a film, rather than try to film our show."

For those of you in the US who buy CDs from Amazon, this may be of interest to you. It allows you to get downloadable MP3 versions of the CDs you've purchased for free. I already used the Amazon Cloud player for the Remixes, and when I launched today, it added the songs from my previously purchased CDs (all Adam of course). Even the tracks from FYE, which I had purchased three years ago.

A question for whenever anyone wakes up! If in fact the Manilla concert information was true for the first arena, and we have no reason to believe it wasn't, would it not be a breach of contract to move the concert to the smaller arena? Also would not Adam's "cut" be tied to the larger arena? Should we be surprised if this concert is cancelled?
