[/IMG]
Yes I really enjoyed that segment. Really there are a lot of people who share Adam's view on the Les Mis movie.

This is from yesterday, not sure if it's been posted, RCA mod chimes in: www.adamofficial.com/us/node/2225389Mega Fan Joined: May 2011 Posts: 941 United States Saturday, January 12, 2013 - 17:48 RCA_FlashMod: Re: THR: Adam Lambert and 19 Recordings part ways \o/ If recollection serves me, according to my understanding, Adam chose to part ways with his management company, 19E (for entertainment) awhile back and signed on with his current one, DMG, but was still under contract with 19R (as in recordings), a recording arm of 19E. That contract has now expired, it seems. He is still under contract with his label, RCA. I will attempt to get some definitive factual information for y'all, but being it's Saturday, may have to wait till Monday.

I know I'm going to be in the minority with my opinion here, but my guess is that TP failed because it was sort of a gay anthem. He sang about trespassing on the heterosexual world and he sang about cruising gay bars and he sang about his relationship with Sauli and how they're told that it's wrong. Granted, Adam could have come out with a very generic album with very generic lyrics and he probably still would have trouble selling to this "christian fundamentalist" country, but making the album a gay anthem type thing probably made things worse. Also, I personally think Adam needs to move away from dance/pop music. I feel he made have sold more if he had stayed with pop/rock type songs instead. WWFM was a perfect fit for Adam and his voice is just wasted on dance music. That stuff is for the auto-tuned singers, not someone who can sing operatic Queen songs. I know Adam likes to push buttons and is not afraid to live his life openly as a gay man, and I deeply respect that, but I do believe it has hurt him in sales and will continue to do that here in america. This country is actually going backwards in some ways with the "fundamentalist" movement happening at the same time as we try to move forward with social issues. It will be a long fight and Adam will have a long fight too to garner respect for who he is here. Overseas, they are much more tolerant of people's differences because they aren't being taught by parents and churches to hate the gays as much as we are over here. The "fundamentalist" are fighting to keep the gays from gaining social acceptance here because they are feeling threatened. This may be shocking to some here, but my husband is a fundamentalist christian and he agreed with Iran's ruler that it is okay to imprison gays when caught in the act of sex. I was shocked too when he said it but I turned to him and said, "well, then you have to imprison the fornicators and adulterers too, what's the difference". That put him in his place as he couldn't disagree with that and claimed he wasn't thinking it through first but just the fact that he believes they are worthy of being imprisoned is bad enough. I asked him who are they hurting and he couldn't answer. This shows just how brainwashed they are and this is very common here in our country even though we are in the mist of trying to change society's preconceived ideas about gays. I just think Adam has always had an uphill battle to fight here in america and it will continue to be that way for him, unfortunately.

Xixioge,
Did you get enough information to ease your anxiety?
From what I understand 19 Recordings signs the contestants from Idol, then licenses them to an actual label. They used to license the artists to RCA, now it is a different label. But either way, 19R is an intermediary that has the primary purpose of peeling some of the money the album makes for the label (RCA in Adam's case), and passing that money on to the business that owns&runs American Idol.
Adam's contract with 19R was up. Adam and 19R chose not to renew. 19R doesn't do much, if anything, for the artist. It is just the way AI gets it's share for having "discovered" the artist. Now Adam and RCA (as stated several places) will carry on without giving that slice of money to 19R. And, of course, Adam's management will continue to strategize with Adam about how to build his career.
No worries. peace&love

I don't know why but I'm a little giddy today! I feel very excited after Adams tweets yesterday! So much to look forward to. I also think its just not knowing whats next, whether he'll do any US shows or reunite with queen for a show. I just hope he's somewhere within 500 miles of me so I can get there!!!!!!!PLZ PLZ PLZ!!!!!!!!!!!! [/IMG] [/IMG]
I know what you mean! Ok, if he toured NYC, CHI, DFW, LAX AND SEATTLE would that cover enough territory so that the majority of us could get to a concert?
And Akron OH!! Seriously, you have to add in Atlanta. ** How about a 8 concert mini tour -- NYC, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco, LA. Hey Adam -- are you reading this? You can do this in two weeks. I could sell all the tickets for you! Would not be hard!! Oh, can we also add Las Vegas? 9 Concert Mini Tour!! 9 concerts, average venue 5,000 seats, 45,000 tickets at $50 each -- Adam & Co keeps 50%. Gross $2.5 million, Adam share $1.25 million. After he pays the band, dancers, back-up singers and his crew, he could keep $800K. We co not need sets or fancy costumes -- just use what you have. Oh, I would pay $250 just to see Adam with a chair and mike. I do not even need the band. I need a fix.

Maybe Adam did sign a new contract with RCA -- shoshanna stone @shoshannastone 8am and I am already talking about the creation of album no. 3 and album no. 8. )) That would be a standard contract term of an initial album plus 5 options for a total of 6 albums. That is a big smile at the end of her tweet. I think the #8 album is for one of Shoshanna's other artists, any one of the following who all have 7 albums out: Shakira (last December 2010) Britney (last March 2011) Usher (last June 2012)

Welcome xixioge,
I like to read different points of view on Atop. It makes for more interesting discussions.
My 2 cents: I am convinced that Adam is making #3 at RCA, and I have mixed feelings about it because while I am thrilled he is getting to make new music, I was hoping for a different label. RCA did not get good results for Trespassing which is just a fantastic album. I know it was lack of radio play, but isn't getting that play one of their main functions? I sometimes think if they can't get that what good are they? I am optimistic about #3 mostly because because of DMG. PLL, Voice of China and VH1 Divas were all wonderful gigs that exposed him to loads of new potential fans. So with them on board I think we will see better results with the new upcoming launch.
I am also concerned about the concentration of radio ownership in just a handful of corporation. Thus is life in 21st century America.
