I know I'm going to be in the minority with my opinion here, but my guess is that TP failed because it was sort of a gay anthem. He sang about trespassing on the heterosexual world and he sang about cruising gay bars and he sang about his relationship with Sauli and how they're told that it's wrong. Granted, Adam could have come out with a very generic album with very generic lyrics and he probably still would have trouble selling to this "christian fundamentalist" country, but making the album a gay anthem type thing probably made things worse. Also, I personally think Adam needs to move away from dance/pop music. I feel he made have sold more if he had stayed with pop/rock type songs instead. WWFM was a perfect fit for Adam and his voice is just wasted on dance music. That stuff is for the auto-tuned singers, not someone who can sing operatic Queen songs. I know Adam likes to push buttons and is not afraid to live his life openly as a gay man, and I deeply respect that, but I do believe it has hurt him in sales and will continue to do that here in america. This country is actually going backwards in some ways with the "fundamentalist" movement happening at the same time as we try to move forward with social issues. It will be a long fight and Adam will have a long fight too to garner respect for who he is here. Overseas, they are much more tolerant of people's differences because they aren't being taught by parents and churches to hate the gays as much as we are over here. The "fundamentalist" are fighting to keep the gays from gaining social acceptance here because they are feeling threatened. This may be shocking to some here, but my husband is a fundamentalist christian and he agreed with Iran's ruler that it is okay to imprison gays when caught in the act of sex. I was shocked too when he said it but I turned to him and said, "well, then you have to imprison the fornicators and adulterers too, what's the difference". That put him in his place as he couldn't disagree with that and claimed he wasn't thinking it through first but just the fact that he believes they are worthy of being imprisoned is bad enough. I asked him who are they hurting and he couldn't answer. This shows just how brainwashed they are and this is very common here in our country even though we are in the mist of trying to change society's preconceived ideas about gays. I just think Adam has always had an uphill battle to fight here in america and it will continue to be that way for him, unfortunately. a dinna understand why ur still with this husband , id have booted him oot te join the last 3 (sorry ave been at burritto,s bottle)

[/IMG]
I think it did. This is because there was so much buzz surrounding the single release then and even some of the top 40 stations were buzzing about it. That was a popular LA HAC station that had announced Adam released a new single they would spin at so and so, and then they all chickened out. I just noticed a lot of those Clear Channel stations chickened out right after that incident. It was my observation and I'm not claiming to be in the know.

19 Management - first part expired Summer 2011; fully expires in 2019 - Adam pays 15 percent of his earnings, not including those from recording and merchandising contracts, to 19 Entertainment-related companies as a manager’s fee. The initial contract extends for three years, although 19 continues to collect a percentage of some of the contestant’s earnings for 10 years. This caught me off guard.....as I do not know much of anything about the industry. Does this mean that Adam is still paying royalities to 19M and his new management company as well?
