Frank Ocean Nabs GLAAD Media Awards Nomination
Adam Lambert is also up for Outstanding Music Artist at the awards, which recognize 'outstanding images of the LGBT community.'

As if garnering six Grammy nods wasn't enough of an achievement, Frank Ocean has just added another nomination to his roster. The R&B singer is up for a prize at the upcoming GLAAD Media Awards, which recognize "outstanding images of the LGBT community" across all forms of media, including music and film.

After opening up about a prior relationship with a man in a heartfelt letter in July and later chronicling that relationship on his Grammy-nominated album Channel Orange, Ocean is now up for Outstanding Music Artist. He'll go up against the Scissor Sisters (Magic Hour), Rufus Wainwright (Out of the Game), Gossip (A Joyful Noise) and Adam Lambert (Trespassing).

My two cents.

Adam deserves it...

... but I think Frank Ocean will get it.

Positive reinforcement to coming out, giving importance to the fact that he's now openly gay in the world of rap, he's nominated for 6 Grammy awards this year so the publicity will be larger... You pick a reason.

Adam has a chance, though. First openly gay singer to debut #1 on Billboard. And he's done a lot for the LGBT community. [/quote]

And truly Frank Ocean's album is wonderful.

But I think Adam could win this because he have done more -- benefits, public support, and had a #1 album.

If not this year, it will be next year for Adam. Matter of time.

The first two articles I saw about the GLAAD nomination had this heading:

(Reuters) - Television shows "The New Normal" and "Smash," animated film "ParaNorman," and "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert were among nominees on Wednesday for the GLAAD Media Awards.

FYI, Reuters is a highly respected international news agency headquartered in London. Its news articles are picked up and published by other news outlets online, in print and on TV. The article reports that there were 150 nominees in various categories. Reuters chose just four names for the headline, and one of them is our BB. To me, that is quite a big recognition of his star power. Whether or not he wins, this is a wonderful news cycle.
