I have a habit of composing a longer post in a separate text file. Now I notice that when I copy the text from there and paste it to the reply box the result is not what I see there having the visual on. :( You might try composing in the reply box. It's much more friendly and similar to word processing now. Plus you can save your text. If you want to continue composing elsewhere, you could paste it here and then apply the F button (remove formatting). That might make it look like the rest of the posts.
