Glampoon - can you please explain WHY it is "WTF" for you... the reason I am asking is that I AM confused by the original version to be frank...i.e. - there was NOTHING passionate in Cash's version, not a bit of "desire" expressed in music or singing despite the lyrics talking about it... it sounded like some polka / macarena piece...so, I can't see how Adam's PASSIONATE, almost LUSTY version is "WTF" and the original is "GOOD"...( My apologies to JC's purists here...) Because I grew up hearing it as a fun Country song, then suddenly it's an Egyptian porn soundtrack, what's not WTF about that Glampoon I was confused too because I only remembered it as a very 'country' song and all the Mideastern or whatever you call it sounds made me be think WTF! I loved Adam's performance but was caught off guard by the music arrangement.

www.ronniekroell.com/adam-lambert-leann-rimes-lisa-vanderpump/Adam Lambert, LeAnn Rimes, & Lisa Vanderpumpby RONNIE on published 2013-01-27 JANUARY 27, 2013 It’s a typical Sunday in Los Angeles, but it hasn’t been a typical week…
As I sit enjoying my Kona coffee, my mind is spinning with happy memories. Did Adam Lambert, LeAnn Rimes, and Lisa Vanderpump really take their photos for our Friend Movement anti-bully campaign, “THE NEW F WORD”? Did the amazing Bonnie Tiegel, Brooke Anderson, and Tatiana Toomer come to our set with Entertainment Tonight? Did Lizzie Velazquez and Roman Arispe fly across the country to be a spokespersons for our work? Did Joseph Searsmeet his idol Adam Lambert after years of being bullied and made to feel ashamed of who he was? Maybe I was just dreaming …pinch … ouch … I’m awake! After nearly a year of careful planning with an incredible producing team, our dream is coming true. So many incredible people are lending their name, time, and support to this cause; we are so thankful.

I confess I've never understood why some people felt confused about ROF. I understand even less why some people felt uncomfortable. The only thing I thought when I first watched it was: "OMG, that was EPIC!!! The vocals!!! Such an amazing version!!!! And he's sex on legs!!!" But I never felt confused. And of course, I never felt uncomfortable. To the people who felt confused, why did you feel that way? Confused about what? Was it the eastern arrangement? As I noted earlier in the thread RoF was the performance that hooked me. I recognised it as being similar to the version that had been done by Dilana on reality show Rock Star. Adam of course added his own flourishes and amped up the weirdness some but I was never confused by it, just sat and grinned like a loon saying "fuck yeh" Johnny Cash would have loved that. I loved Dilana's version when I heard it and was thrilled when I heard "someone else" doing it on TV. I walked on into the living room and caught a glimpse of this ultra sexy guy smokin' up the screen and SANGING! I was utterly mesmerized from that point forward. Hopped on the internet, watched everything I could find, died -- just died.
