As for the lyric content, I never understood what "Tower of Babel falling down again" meant.....that reference was completely lost on me so I guess I can see where someone else might think the lyric is superficial if they didn't get what he was referring to. Really? IMHO this is so easy to decode especially in song like "Broken English" which is about problems in communication between people. Seriously you must know story about Tower of Babel? I'm really astounded surprised that a reviewer had no idea what that lyric means. And "superficial"? Are most pop lyrics today not superficial? frecklesexual made some excellent points but I'm having a hard time understanding the BE lyric criticism. There's so much more to say on this subject (although it's all been said before). But I'm not going to say it because I'm just trying to catch up after having been away for a day. Not easy. But fun. Oh - just read rihannsu's post.

I also agree that Adam is hugely successful and loved around the world. For the US to be so behind in its acceptance of gays is just tragic! We no longer lead the world in equal rights for all. Maybe we never really did! We just tell the rest of the world we do. I believe Adam will gain fans here as time goes on, you can't deny talent. As someone said up thread he will need a hit song from his next album. TV is where I want to see him. He would just shine in a music show of his own. I hope I get to see it because I haven't been to successful in getting to any of his shows, they've just been too far away, except for Glam Nation in Milwaukee and the AI tour in Madison.

Who wants to talk about Adam's hair products? Body hair in general? Glambulge? His hots for Leo? The vajayjays? Tommy? His highly questionable choice of sunglasses? Oddity of his toes? Lemme know if you're interested. If not, good night, Atop, love y'all xxx PS/ I'm a little tipsy. PPS/ Now, this is a serious topic, suggested by Adam himself. Please, consider it with utmost care: adamlambert: Thought I'd get some work done. What do u think? Looks natural huh. link

In the interest of keeping to the facts, for the thousandth time WWFM was not released after the AMA's. FYE was getting negative feedback from PD's before the AMA's and Z100 and Saturday Online BOTH played WWFM in mid November. Z100 pushed the song heavily but take note though that the song was not sexual in nature and Pink as writer was mentioned in EVERY interview and Adam was painstaking in making the song about relationships in general. Just as with LLWD by Kris Allen many, many people who love the song have no idea it is Adam singing it. In many areas DJ's would emphasize the Pink connection more than who was singing the song just as with LLWD the connection to The Script was played upon heavily. As for WWFM's airplay being of any consequence as far as "proving" Adam's sexuality is not a factor, that I say is bullshit. All it does is provide the stations with the perfect inoffensive cover for whatever prejudice they may have. It "proves" nothing. They are not going to be stupid enough to openly refuse to play the gay guy so all they really have to do is not really give him enough of a chance. Kind of like "damning with faint praise". At the same time that WWFM was being played radio tried like hell to make Orianthi happen by playing the hell out of her song regardless of the fact that sales never really matched the exposure the song was getting. Adam will likely never be the beneficiary of that kind of radio support and I do think PART of that is because he is gay. Most of us who say his sexuality is a factor consider it just part of the picture but as soon as it gets mentioned we get accused of claiming "it's all because of the gay". Bottom line is many people have a negative preconceived opinion about gay people and if you think this does not affect their decision making processes you are living in fantasy land. Most of radio is controlled by very conservative types even moreso now than when WWFM was a hit because Clear Channel was bought out by people even more conservative than the ones who owned it before. Given the political landscape of gay rights over the past couple of years it is mind boggling to me that anyone could think that his sexuality is a total non issue. Makes sense to me, rihannsu.
I also want to add that FYE as an album was very neutral (sans Fever); TP as an album is Adam's gift to his brothers and sisters of the LGBT community: it is about their struggle, their love, their pick ups, their clubs, their life...and IMO there is no denying it.... it took guts and balls to release it! ( and as we know the said community did pretty much nothing to support this gift by one of their own - but that's a discussion not for this forum). Radio (as explained in the post above), in its present state would not play Adam. However, BTIKM was released well before the album was ready but radio did not play it anyway, despite the huge, painfully humble radio tour Adam had to endure....I can't help but "blame" that on the single itself.... I can only hope that something will change for #3, although I am not optimistic at all... I hope RCA will find another way to get Adam into the spotlight. Choosing singles that are actually "Adam" would help next time as well IMO. I am hoping that the current climate of "gay rights = human rights" will make acceptance of Adam as a "gay" singer more palatable for the masses.
