Susie Fierce: Thanks for the link to Nile's blog. He is so interesting and open. And it's obvious he is smitten with Adam. Have to say, Adam has had some pretty fabulous mentors this past year. And being the quick study he is, Adam will take it all in... Also, I kept the link open to listen to Nile's playlist. It's a great collection of songs by big stars Nile has produced - and right there in the middle is Shady. The picture and caption you mentioned, and being included in the playlist - pretty cool. I just looked through the playlist and noticed "Roam" by the B-52s. I've always loved the album that was from, Cosmic Thing. I had no idea Nile Rodgers produced it. What an amazing career he's had. It's pretty unbelievable that he's never won a Grammy.

All's I can say is it takes time. Adam is not a flavor of the month, he's a little too much for people to process and it's probably a GOOD thing, IMO. If everyone "got" him right off, he'd be microwave macaroni and cheese (out of the blue box) and not caviar. The ones that hit hard and fast burn out just as quickly, so I really, truly think "Trespassing" will be part of his overall legacy – a great piece of work that didn't get its due in its time. That's okay. It helps pave his longevity. You're an opera fan, so you know that not everyone can even grasp or appreciate that level of skill and talent. It's so over many people's heads that they can't go there. I'm not saying Adam is as highbrow as opera, but I think the dynamic is kind of the same. People have to process on their own level. Those who KNOW shit (the musical legends, the vocalists, etc.) realize the stuff he's doing is incredible. Other people just think, "He sounds good." or "I don't get it." (#pity) The thing with Adam (from my experience) is that his layers of good are SO good that once you get it, you never get enough. You can listen to every nuance 100 times and not be bored with it. Overall, I think it will be better for HIS legacy that he proved himself over the long run.

SuzieFierce, thanx for all your posts this evening. You make a lot of sense, and I hoping for Adam's longevity, and eventual iconic status.
