I've been taken aback today with all this talk of not wanting to intrude on Adam's private life.
Here's my rant . . . scroll is your friend.
What have I been doing these past four years? Searching and loving every snippet of information; enlarging every photo so that each pore and hair is revealed; examining as closely as humanly possible every stitch of his clothing; every fold and tuck and 'bulge'; analyzing every word; every facial gesture; the rings on his fingers; finding the note sequence of every song! Good heavens . . . now that there may be a rift; there may be conflict - or not . . . am I supposed to act like 'I will give them space'?? Should I not comment because it would be an invasion of privacy????

You guys, I am a fucking, lost, loving fan. I am a cottonheaded, enraptured, open-walleted fan who has no knowledge; who does not read tea leaves; who does not know the object of my adoration AT ALL. It's a fantasy! My love of Adam - this love that now looks into his life, his habits, his clothing, his parties, his friends, his shopping, his address, his preference for tea - does not stop when sensitive subjects arise. I have nowhere to go but here to discuss these subjects; these soulful, surprising, carnal yearnings.
There are people on this forum who are heavily emotionally invested in A&S. I am not one of them. But they are here, and I care about them! Can't they be heard? Isn't their angst worthy of our compassion and understanding?
We're a bunch of flailing Adam fans. Right? This is not 'Dear Abby'. I am ridiculously for freedom of speech - even on this fanboard. I realize there are rules. Good rules. We are not diplomats or Socrates or the Supreme Court. We are this mixture of amazement and love from all over the world - and when we worry, we should be able to find comfort, speculation, and answers within the community we share.
I don't want to offend anyone. I'm just looking for the honest in me, and you.

Well, I guess I'm ruined. Thought listening to Adam tonight might make me a bit sad, so I tried some Bach... used to listen to that sort of music quite a bit... But I'm back in Kiev - Crazy Little Thing Called Love is playing - and I'm happy.   |

I think much of the problem with all this sadness and angsting here on Atop- without any real knowledge of anything - is that hundreds of people - maybe fans, maybe not - read here every day and then take it all to twitter and the rumor mill grows. Who gets hurt, probably Adam and Sauli reading about their personal lives written by strangers who think they know - or need to know and tell all. And the trolls have a field day with it. It's just not right. And it is too bad that fans who really do care are helping spread those rumors and that angst and fodder for the haters. Well, I'M NOT SAD AND I'M NOT ANGSTING AND I DON'T DO TWITTER SO I DON'T SEE NUTHIN'. ahhh... ignorance is sooooooooooo blissful!!!    |
