Wow!! 1 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE 20/20 EXPERIENCE 980,622 I have to say that I was not impressed with this record and I am amazed. I'll Agree but what I noticed about this rCA promo was he had numerous TV ADS as well as the TV shows plus ADS galore on Youtube. SO I hope this next CD promo for Adam, he gets the TV ADS as well as YouTube. Let's see what tv Gigs he also gets. I don't even like 'mirror's, it sounds like milk toast. I'm starting to think the public likes 'easy listening shit' rather good lyrical tunes. Time will tell '

Wow!! 1 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE 20/20 EXPERIENCE 980,622 I have to say that I was not impressed with this record and I am amazed. I'm a big fan of JT's last album "FutureSex/Love Sounds", this comeback? not so much but that's an entire matter of subjectivity. Aside from that, this is a classic case of what I've been saying all along and that is, above all, music biz is a business! Everything about this comeback from TV blitz down to online merchandising, and the timing of each appearance, has been orchestrated and aligned up beautifully like a jigsaw puzzle. The wind is definitely blowing JT's way, but the name JT and a long absence of 7 years have certainly added a lot of dramatic effects to this whole comeback event as well. Here is how HDD summed up JT's gangster showing on the chart:>>> It all started with the release of the first single, “Suit & Tie,” a collaboration with Jay-Z, followed by performances on the Grammys, Saturday Night Live and SXSW, culminating in a week on Jimmy Fallon.
Thanks to a crack setup by Peter Edge, Tom Corson and Joe Riccitelli’s RCA team and the nonstop energy of the star himself, Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience culminates in a triumphant #1 debut, with sales of more than 980k, surpassing all expectations.
Some quick factoids: The album immediately becomes the year’s best-seller to date with the highest sales total since Taylor Swift's Red moved 1.2 million last fall, and tops Lil Wayne’s 964k for Tha Carter IV in September 2011. Sales estimates for the album began at slightly more than 500k and continued to climb in the ensuing weeks. <<<source: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news09335

And now....the SoundScan numbers are in! Official: Justin Timberlake's '20/20 Experience' Sells 968,000, Debuts at No. 1 on... >>> It's official: Justin Timberlake's new album "The 20/20 Experience" debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 968,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "20/20," released on March 19, is Timberlake's second No. 1 album and logs his best sales week yet. It follows his last release, 2006's "FutureSex/LoveSounds," which arrived atop the list with his previous high: 684,000. Timberlake's first album, 2002's "Justified," debuted and peaked at No. 2 with a 439,000 start. "20/20's" monster sales are the 19th-largest week for an album since SoundScan started tracking data in 1991. The all-time best-selling week was when Timberlake's former group, 'N Sync, saw its "No Strings Attached" album debut with 2.42 million at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated April 8, 2000. ******************* ******************* Sources say Apple's iTunes Store was the top seller of "20/20" for the week, as overall digital sales, with Target its No. 2 account. The latter was the only retailer with an exclusive version of the album: It includes two bonus songs unavailable anywhere else: "Dress On" and "Body Count." Target has been heavily promoting the album via a series of TV commercials, the first of which premiered during CBS' broadcast of the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10. For its part, iTunes had an exclusive stream of "20/20" that premiered on March 11 -- more than a week before the album dropped on March 19. During "20/20's" debut week, the lowest advertised price for the album at a national retailer was $7 -- both Walmart and Amazon.com were selling the physical CD for that price. Target promoted its exclusive version for $9.99. iTunes and its main competitor, Amazon MP3, sold the standard digital album for $10.99. In the lead-up to the release of the album, Timberlake hosted and performed on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (March 9) and had a week-long residency on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" (March 11-15). He also starred in his own TV concert special, "Target Presents: The iHeartRadio Album Release Party," which aired twice on the CW during release week: March 19 and 22. The show was first streamed live on the Web via the iHeartRadio service on March 18. <<<For the complete article, go to www.billboard.com/articles/news/1554504/official-justin-timberlakes-2020-experience-sells-968000-debuts-at-no-1-on

I just don't get what the attraction is to JT and why he is so popular. His songs go on far too long and I don't think I have managed to listen through any but shortened radio edits. It's the same soft melody and soft singing through every song. There's no beginning, climax or end. I guess it would be OK if you wanted something relaxing to listen to while taking a long bath or as background music for a romantic dinner.
Oh well, to each their own. Obviously I'm way out of touch as to what is popular.

Music is all about "to each their own", as any other art form but more importantly, like any business, music biz IS a business (sounding like an old broken record here...lol)! The humongous success of JT's comeback was largely due to the beautifully executed business plan, his popularity and status only made it easier. And, JT has been and is a huge commercial success. The current album's success is built upon the past glory of "Justified" and "FutureSex/LoveSounds".

Okay, guys, getting really butt-hurt here. P2's Home is now the best selling Idol single ever and it's going to be released in the UK. Years of Adam trying to break through and he just can't. Then on top of that, he's already playing the Rio music festival that we've voted on for how many years now. When is Adam going to get a lucky break? Seems like he has to try 100 times harder than everyone else, and he still doesn't break through.
Gonna go cry now.

The only reason that P2 will be rocking in Rio is John Mayer...he is the opening act for Mayer's upcoming tour. But, that's just it --- the luck! P2 (a modest talent) is probably the luckiest AI contestant, evah! :D His humongous single Home, which I'd been wondering when Interscope was gonna make move into the UK market, is scheduled to release in the UK on June 3, then the album June 10. If there's another market in the world that pretty much breathes the same Pop air as the US is UK. I have a feeling that Interscope might be trying to market/promote him as the US version of Ed Sheeran who is very popular in the UK, and else where, but we'll see if they can get Radio 1 onboard.....(at least, Radio 2 for sure tho, I think) Some people seem to have all the luck in the world right off the bat, then there're others whose paths are filled with obstacles and challenges, and "bad luck", but their eventual success would also be much more sweeter and appreciated. And, conquering the UK market will be one of those sweet successes in Adam's future....sending positive thoughts to the universe. And, not trying to be cheesy or anything, Adam has had many successes so far, domestic and int'l, in his young career, so don't cry.

I've said it here before but I think P2 is the luckiest artist I have ever seen. Every time I hear of yet another lucky break he gets, I am just so angry for Adam. Also, last night I was watching Dancing with the Stars and there was some pop band on. The first thing I thought of was how much better the songs on TP were than the song that the band played. But that song was probably played everywhere and was a huge hit. Adam's best songs on TP were never even heard by the public and it just kills me. I am hoping and praying that Adam makes it big in China. Maybe then will the US start paying attention to him. Crossing fingers.
