Do our Atops from Finland know if Sauli has been seen there in the past couple of days? I really don't think Adam would like going to that island without having somebody with him he knows. Wasn't the rest of the Glamily still in Jakarta? Hmm...

ETA: I assumed the first post was classifying P2 as a country artist. P2 is not a country artist. His big hit "Home" was #6 on the Hot 100, #1 on the US AC and Adult Pop charts, #2 on the Rock chart and #8 on the Pop chart. It has sold over 4 million units in the US. But it did not break into the US Country charts. And, it has only been certified in Canada and the US! I am stumped as to why he is doing Rockin Rio. I mean REALLY stumped. I can only chalk it up to 2 things. 1) Interscope is AMAZEBALLS! 2) It could be linked to his few shows he is doing with John Mayer over summer. He is performing on the same stage the same day. Perhaps his management somehow got a 2 for deal and he is playing for free just to get the exposure. I am guessing that the people at that stage on that day are going to go, "Who??"  He is on before John Mayer so it makes some sense. I think it may be linked to the John Mayer shows but I agree, I cannot imagine he has a lot of fans in Brazil. And I can't imagine they are paying P2 very much. Setting all of that aside, RinR is a big event -- but it is not what it used to be when it set records (1985 was a long time ago.) I would be great if they booked Adam but there are so many things higher on my dream list for him. And I think more than anything, he needs to play some concerts in the US this summer. It will help drive buzz for his next album. ETA: Unless Queenbert reunited as headlined the open night. Then I am flying to Rio. |

I hope Adam's management has a better roll out plan for his 3rd album. Katy Perry is with Capital which was acquired by Universal Music Group in 2012 -- UMG had nothing to do with her promotion. Interscope is also owned by UMG. Justin Timberlake is with RCA. Adam will not get a promo rollout like JT is getting but, if Adam gives RCA some really strong commercial product, they will spend the money on it. It depends on the music's fit with the market. I am just hoping for great music and a new album within 12 months. I am glad it looks like Adam will be in the US this summer, hopefully working on his next album. |
