Can we be Glamberts for a moment and not Worryberts?
It is what it is and everything will happen the way it will at this point, it is out of all our hands, even Adam's hands. St. Petersburg law enforcement will have to decide (and probably have already decided) whether they want to create an international drama or whether they will let this one slide. They chose 'drama' with Madonna and Gaga and they certainly went after their own people (the 80 arrested ones), which means that these same 80 people have even more at stake, if they stick out their heads again at this concert.That is the whole point of their profiling laws, to systematically isolate the gay population including those supportive of their cause and start hounding them. It does not matter what the lyrics of OOL say. It does not matter whether any of the fans do anything to offend anybody, it does not matter what Adam does. At this point it is Glam vs.Homophobic anxiety.
And I am planning on lining up on the Glam side, because that is why I love this guy. He visually and sonically puts his message out into the world and then allows the chips to fall where they may.
Brave, not fearless, he will throw his glitter on this town tomorrow and I hope we have a beautiful picture thread and celebrate the heck out of this tour that was not supposed to be a tour, but was one anyways. I amso proud of what Adam created here out of nothing and this is what he will sing to this crowd tomorrow night:
