So sorry, Mayumi. Only met you both once at GNT, but told a few friends how sweet and patient Rene was as we chattered and acted like 15 yr olds. He was one of a kind. I'm sure you will treasure all the great times you shared.

I want to thank all those who brought the tour a lot closer for those of us who sat at home so wishing we could be there. Those that posted the pictures of the lines, the snow and the venues helped to make me feel a little bit like I was there myself. I was totally silently encouraging BETTY on as she cast off across the water. I was anxious when I heard about all whose flights were cancelled--picturing you haggard but determined, relaxing when you proved nothing could keep you away. I relished the excitement of your final posts before heading for your flights, trains, and cars. And I also hurt for JANUARY SNOW imagining the feeling of having the concert taken from her. I was touched by the generosity of those who sacrificed to stream concerts for people who are somehow strangers but family members at the same time. I marvelled as I was able to celebrate from afar with others from so many places across the globe with nothing but a twitter list and our collective excitement. I was so thankful for the hospitality of foreign audiences who showered Adam with the love I could not. I felt like Adam was wrapped in a hug when he arrived in Finland, a country I now feel so akin to myself, finally getting the admiration he deserves. I loved hearing about the fan gatherings and picturing those that I have no visual for, only a personality, and adding "dancer" to my LILY image. I couldn't wait to hear from all the recappers who let us live it vicariously and gave us the eyes to know which direction Sauli was from the stage or what the make-up of the audience was, and especially from AYLEIM, and other Adam-virgins, who found out that Adam did actually manage to live up to blown-up expectations. And whose heart didn't leap at the airport tweet from ALBIKU who's first time with Adam turned out to be so fatefully special? Then there's those that posted the videos and archived them all so I can relive it in the future. And VIRG1877 who somehow managed to organize the gazillion pictures as a gorgeous souvenir to us all!
Really guys, for not getting to go to a concert myself, I feel like I experienced this tour. I thank you all for that from the bottom of my heart.
And thank you ADAM, for being the reason behind so much goodness.

Did you know that when the inter-racial marriage issue was brought before the court that (at that time) 70% of the population was against inter-racial marriage. Interesting parallel to what is happening this week re civil rights (imo). The Sunday a.m. pundits were debating the court's involvement vs. a popular vote and this point was brought up. The Gallop poll question about interracial marriage was not about legality -- it was approval. Very different. When the US Supreme Court ruled on Loving vs. Virginia (1967), interracial marriage was legal in the majority of the US. There is a summary map of legalization dates here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interracial_marriage_in_the_United_StatesEven is some states that had laws on the books (Delaware for example), they were not being enforced in 1967. The question Gallop asked was "Do you approve or disapprove....": www.gallup.com/poll/28417/most-americans-approve-interracial-marriages.aspxBig difference between approving of something and thinking it should be legal. If the gay marriage question was framed in the context of approval, it would lose. But framed in the context of the right, it has the support of 54% of Americans.
