Hello ATOP I try not to get too invested in Adam's personal life. However, it was kinda nice to think that he had a nice safe cocoon that he could go to outside of the public eye. I wish the best for both Adam and Sauli. Oh, bb, haven't seen you in a while. Sorry this is what it took for us to be here at the same time.

Actually, I am always lurking around. I just don't post much. {{{{HUGS}}} I have been dipping into the carpet bag. Great vodka cranberries in there. I think I am approaching burritoville.

Q3.. did I read you were able to upgrade your Pittsburgh ticket? They sold out in no time. Happy for you! Yes, first time I was every in the right place at the right time!! Q3, trying to catch up on the thread, but did I miss something about upgrading tickets? I got the presale. What was the upgrade for? Did they offer VIP or something? I was so sad to hear the news of the breakup, and wish Adam all the happiness he deserves.

Quote: 'I'd wager to say when he meets the one he thinks is for a lifetime, he'll keep it closer to the vest.' Or he'll stop playing pop star. And settle down for a while.
So, while I certainly agree with and am thankful for all the posts pointing out that we have no right to be entitled, I have to say that I am also fully aware that my ability to enjoy this fandom is dependent on Adam's willingness to live this rock star life. My mourning will be not when Adam enters or exits a relationship, but rather when Adam exits the public stage. Of course he will have the right to do that too, just like any other right he has, but that one will be hard. This one in comparison is far more removed from me, an outsider. So, while I am not feeling entitled, I am feeling grateful to be allowed to participate as a fan.
Wanted to comment on those that say that S & A fit together so well. And I know I do not know them personally, but this is my impression. There are certain areas where they fit very well, and they were already mentioned. But I also think there are many others, where they did not fit so much. To me Sauli is very much a butterfly at heart and I mean that in the best of ways. He loves the sunshine, is loved by all for his inner and outer beauty, his non-threatening ways, his friendliness, his outgoing personality, his fluttery positive spirit. He knows how to use all his strengths to work his own life and he has found his way.
Adam certainly has that sunny, sociable part to him, but there are also very much other sides. First of all, there is dark and light Adam, and I am not sure how Sauli is dealing with dark Adam, besides being a butterfly and hiding somewhere til the storm is over. There is also analytical Adam and I don't think Sauli knows how to deal with all the dialectic debates that Adam is having with himself. Way too heavy stuff for Sauli? Probably yes. There also is brooding Adam, who is cooking up a stew of own thoughts and stirs them for a long time and lets them simmer. Again, too heavy a brew for Sauli.
Adam lifts himself out of his darker side in one of two ways. One is by letting his sunny and sociable side pull him out of it and the other is to pour his perception and feelings into his art and his music. Sauli could only help him with one of the two, Sauli is visual and loves fashion, etc, but I don't see a creative artist.
In addition, I think that Sauli did under-estimate how hard it would be for him to be away from family and friends and how difficult socializing can be in a different culture. LA is not an easy city to live in, even for many locals. Add the whole fame situation only made it harder. He needs more time in Finland, I believe, and Adam needs to be all over the world.
So, while I agree that Adam and Sauli had a lot in common and can look back on two years that were good to them, I do think that there were also many things that pulled them apart, and I guess the time had come for them to let go, and the time has now come for us to do the same.

[laughs bittersweetly at seeing so many wonderful ATOPpers at the same time]
[sighs and looks concerns]
To all our dear Finnish ATOPpers, who might have originally come here out of curiosity for Sauli's partner, and who then fell "down the rabbithold" with Adam and his music, please stay.
You have brought us such joy. Those of us who may not have been initially familiar with Finland fell in love with all of you and your country. Adam and Sauli may have come to a crossroads, but you guys have become our friends.
I sincerely hope that you all continue to dance and sing with us on ATOP.

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Bullshit. I liked Adam so much better when he was with Sauli. I didn't have to look at pictures of drunk Adam in a bar surrounded by boys looking like a fool. Adam and Sauli together seemed to sparkle and shine and have so much fun. Always smiling and laughing. Adam turned into a businessman and seemed up for a real career. Alway involved, always working. He seemed so happy with someone to come home to. I sit here wondering how long it took Adam to finally admit that they were broken up. Things have been wrong for awhile and people seemed to know it, but nothing was said. It's like the release of the Trespassing album. Kinda ishy. I've always been Adam's fan but I fell in love with Sauli along the way. He was so good for Adam. The two of them jogging and drinking juice. What a pair walking hand in hand down on that red carpet. They brought me such joy. I am going to miss that. Adam is single again. Oh boy, can't wait for the pictures. I think I need another glass of wine and forget about Adam for several days. There has been some rewriting of history ever since Adam & Sauli became a couple. Adam did not turn "into a businessman... up for a career" after he met Sauli. Adam was a hard-working, dedicated-to-his-craft child that grew into an adult with a remarkable work ethic.
Adam has been supporting himself since he finished high school, mostly by singing. Michael Orland and Ricky Minor from American Idol both remarked on Adam's hard work & professionalism. Anyone that ever saw Adam perform before he met Sauli knows that he always gave his all in every performance. It is another myth that Adam started exercising and became health conscious after he met Sauli. Adam & Sauli seemed to have a nice healthy relationship. Let's just keep it real.

Yes, Thank you Hoppers for saying that. Rakastamme Suomi, nyt. And I could not have said anything close to this two years ago, neither in language nor in content. And while I admit that I ran that through google translate to check, I actually knew everyone of these words, just needed the grammar and I hope Google did not let me down. We have grown a lot closer and I also hope you stay with us.
