Like many other fans, I sort of knew something was different between Adam and Sauli. So, yesterday's news was not much of a surprise and yet I hard a hard time focusing on work and kept thinking about Adam, and Sauli and their fans. The breakup was friendly but still sent a disturbance through Adam fandom. The disturbance was like waves gliding across the ocean surface big in some places, small in others, but constant. 24 hours later, it has sunken in a bit.

Today, the headline is Adam is single. And hopefully working on a new single. I am very single-minded when it come to Adam -- music, music, music. But yesterday afternoon I started to make up my own little fairy tale [pun apology] hoping to distract myself from thinking about relationships, and life challenges, and work-life balance, and all kinds of complexity of life.



Once upon a time, there was a beautiful man named Cinderbert. He was a recording artist and thus was confronted by wicked program directors and evil paparazzi. Sometime they treated Cinderbert very badly. One day, Cinderbert was invited to perform at the grand ball in the king’s palace in Vienna.

Cinderbert did not know what to wear to the ball. He went to his amazing wardrobe closet to search for something grand enough for this event but nothing would do. Suddenly, two Blonds fairy godmothers appeared and said, “Don’t worry, Cinderbert! We will send you to the ball in grand style!” The Blonds fairy godmothers waved their magic wands and changed Cinderbert’s old clothes into a beautiful new ensemble -- all silvery platinum with a cloak and mask and some kind of liquid neon draping! The Blonds fairy godmothers then touched Cinderbert’s feet with the magic wand. And lo! He had beautiful over-the-knee flexible glass boots! “How will I go to the grand ball?” asked Cinderbert.

The Blonds fairy godmothers found six models playing near an espresso machine in the kitchen (they must have followed the designers here). They touched the models with their magic wands and the models became four sexy flight attendants  and two pilots and the espresso machine turned into a QSST private jet. Cinderbert was overjoyed and set off for the ball in the plane staffed by the sexy flight attendants and pilots.

Before leaving, The Blonds fairy godmothers said, “Cinderbert, this magic will only last until midnight Los Angeles time! You must reach home by then!” [That is 9:00AM CEST Vienna time. World clock: Cinderbert clock ]


The fastest, quietest Private Jet – The QSST - The 12-passenger Quiet Supersonic Transport (QSST) can make it from Los Angeles to New York in a tad over two hours. When the aircraft travels faster than the speed of sound, the inverted-V tail and other design features reduce the noise and it apparently sounds just like a flying kite.

When Cinderbert entered the palace for the costume ball, everybody was struck by his beauty. Nobody knew who  he really was in his shimmering cloak, dazzling color-changing neon and over-the-need flexible glass boots.

Later in the evening it was time for Adam Lambert to preform. But Adam was nowhere to be seen. The mysterious man (Cinderbert in disguise] approached the ball director and with his finger over his lips, said "Shhhhh! Please come with me." They headed backstage. 20 minutes later, a change in the program was announced and the mysterious man appeared on stage and sang like no one has ever sung before. The glitterati assembled at the ball was stunned into total silence. One woman said "I think he may be better than Adam Lambert!" "Impossible" was the reply. But truly, that night, the mysterious man sang like Adam Lambert -- or dare I say, better than anyone has ever heard Adam sing. Perhaps the fairy godmothers cast some kind of magic vocal spell over Cinderbert.

The performance ended to thunderous applause.  

The handsome prince also saw him, and heard him, and fell in love with Cinderbert. He went to him and asked, “Do you want to dance?” And Cinderbert said, “Yes!” The prince danced with him all night and still nobody recognized the beautiful dancer. Cinderbert was so happy dancing with the prince that he almost forgot what The Blonds fairy godmothers had said. At the last moment, Cinderbert remembered his fairy godmother’s words and he rushed to go home. “Oh! I must go!” he cried and ran out of the palace. He raced to his awaiting jet, hoped aboard and touched down at LAX just as the clock struck twelve. His plane turned back into an espresso machine, the flight attendants and pilots into models and his fine ball ensemble into off-the-rack ready to wear clothing. He hoped into his car and headed home. He switched on the radio to hear Ryan Seacrest talking about the beautiful man who had been dancing with the prince and played the new hit song he performed 3 times in a row. Cinderbert threw his head back and laughed. At the next red light, he checked his Twitter feed and realized that the Ninjas had already figured out who the mystery man was.

The prince had fallen in love with Cinderbert and wanted to find out who the beautiful man was, but he did not even know his name. The prince said, “I will find him.” The next day, the prince and his servants searched on the Internet and learned that the mysterious man was an overnight-success pop star.  The contacted the Imperial Wizards who run Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group but they had no idea who he was.

Sheepishly, a young servant approach the prince, "Your Royal Highness, I believe I know who the mysterious man is."

The prince replied anxiously, "Who is he?"

"There is a trend on Twitter, the #mysterymanisAL," she replied.

"What does that mean?"

"It was Adam Lambert! AL is Adam Lambert! The ninjas are talking in code because they do not want to reveal his secret before he want to reveal himself."

The prince thought about this and decided that he would also wait. He called off the search.

Back in the USA. Z100 FM played the Mystery Man Song, 4 times an hours and got requests to play it more. It spread to Japan and China and Spain and Peru within hours. Fans created videos. Within a week, the song was #1 in 28 countries -- based solely on radio airplay and online streaming.

At the Los Angeles airport (LAX) ground crews were puzzled by the sudden appearance of an espresso machine on the tarmac. They quickly moved it to their breakroom and now enjoy fine cappuccino.

A week later, Adam Lambert picked up the phone and call the prince. He reintroduced himself and they arranged to meet for dinner in London. [What did you expect? This is not Cinderrella!] His next call was to a reporter at ACCESSline, Iowa's Gay Newspaper to give him the scoop. Finally, he called RCA and his management and clued them in. The RCA suits went from shocked to stunned to overjoyed in about 3 seconds.

The wicked program directors were transformed instantly into subservient minions but the evil paparazzi multiplied like crazy. Such is the life of a global pop superstar.

And The Blonds decided to invite Adam to work with them on a special clothing line. Adam is expect to say yes.



Everyone, except for the paparazzi, is living a very happy life. The paparazzi are standing in the rain hoping to get a shot of Adam Lambert. They should probably just quit their jobs and get jobs with the LGBT press, cause he might just give them a big scoop!
