Somewhere in the beginning of 2013 things did start to feel quite differently and around his birthday I had a pretty strong feeling that things had changed. We had major discussions here in the following weeks leading up to Valentines Day. And Adam's greeting on that day then was rather brief, certainly not the Rakastan from a year earlier. Now he says that it had been on its way out over the last few months. That all adds up in timeline. I think they made their decisions in January and from then on planned the exit path. It shows how very much a team they still were over the last few months that they pulled that off together, including the whole visit to Finland, that we thought was the 'great homecoming' for both of them and yet we know now that Adam must have dreaded it to some degree. I thought that leaving St.P he must have been relieved and in a political sense he probably was, but yet the Helskinki chapter for him was much more difficult than we noticed and I now understand why he cancelled so much press. He would have had to lie. Instead he chose to say nothing and handle the actual visit including the concert in a very classy way and together with Sauli. And then they waited a while to let that be digested and overtaken by other news and now we find out. I agree with your timeline, crazy; it's the one I believe they were on too. The Valentine Homies tweet calmed a lot of people down but it didn't say much beyond we're still friends. The thing that I thought was strange was that they moved into the condo just before Christmas, and it seemed like things were strained after that. What a volatile last three months they've had - moving, splitting up, touring, staying quiet until Helsinki was over, launching a TV show, and now dealing with the fan aftermath. They must be relieved to finally have it all out in the open so they can move on. IMO, the rental of the condo with the sauna and a great location for Sauli, plus having actually seen them at DIVAS, indicate (to me) the problems started after all that. My guess is mid January, right after they got back from their Bali/VietNam vacation and got to settle in at home & "real, everyday life" for a few weeks.

This looks similar to some of the same things that were said after the Finland incident -- at that time Sauli's friends said Adam was very/too jealous and possessive of Sauli. I think that this is possibly true and the difference between very & too can be in the eye of the beholder. There is at least one error in the article -- " A couple of weeks ago, Adam concerts in Finland, and immediately reached wonder why the couple flew back to the U.S. on different machines."
But Adam went to Austria for some Life Ball promo work not the US. Sauli had to get back to LA to start work on his TV show.
Makes sense to me. And particularly given that real, everyday life includes Sauli working on his own TV Show and Adam working on a new album and flying all over the world for events/concerts/promo.

Thank you everyone for expressing your thoughts and feelings about Adam and Sauli ending their relationship. Your posts have mostly mirrored my own musings and it’s good to know that others’ feel the same.
Just to lend a little support to one or two posters, I have to say that personally I was a little disappointed in the words that Adam chose – “on it’s way out” and “run it’s course” – somehow don’t sit right with me. We all know that Adam has a wonderful command of the English language and I feel that a little more finesse, warmth or respect for Sauli could have been used. Maybe those phrases are more acceptable today than I realise, or maybe Adam was exhibiting some bravado when talking about such a personal subject, I don’t know…. but I can understand why the announcement upset a few posters because of the ‘tone’ of the quotes from Adam.

I wonder who or what is this "close circle" they refer, but the article has a lot of weird mistakes like the different flight thing. Also I find it weird to say that they have had problems everytime visiting Finland. I think they visited once before this last concert and yes, ended up in jail then. But I don't think that the break-up had anything to do with this last Helsinki visit. Or anything to do with Nikos current visit to US. I am sure Adam can be jealous though. The article is quite vicious. I would not like to have "friends" like that and Sauli probably either.

Wish I could remember when Adam first started saying "my current boyfriend" in interviews. That was certainly a clue as it ,immo, implies temporary status. I'll settle for any interview where he said that. I don't remember "my current boyfriend" at all. I remember that remark and was stunned

I am not sure whether to laugh or be appalled that that is the list of things most people are interested in... I look at it as the glass being half-full: Adam is well-known and/or popular enough that people actually are interested in the fact that he and his boyfriend broke up. Hopefully the next time he is at the top of the list it will be for his music, not his love life. Just to clarify my comment had nothing to do with the face that Adam was #1 and more to do with the fact that the basic innanity of the entire list given the serious things going on around the world... my bad should have been more specific.

Having just returned from being in the SF area visiting my son and his wife, and traveling yesterday all day and too cheap to spend the $8 on wifi, I missed the break-up about which I'm sorry, but hopeful for both. I'm just sick that I missed the 100 special tickets for the burgh, as I didn't know they were even available. Sigh. Q3 maybe you'll wave to me???LOL. What I've learned about the Pittsburgh pride: 1. parking at a Goodyear parking lot is a good idea. 2. The way the stage is set up if you stand to the left looking at the stage you can stand on the curb and see better. 3. Every possible home game(pirates, power-arena football) are all having home games that weekend, so parking will be on the other side of impossible. I will call and see if there are any suggestions or other modes of transportation to get to venue. 4. The usual festival type vendor food will be available throughout the grounds. Also, aforementioned son upgraded my operating system on my iPad, so now I can see and use the floating page numbers that were previously just a fond dream. I'm going to try and post again, too, to see if I'm up to speed. As far as I know, there was no indication that these were going to be available until they put them for sale. If SandySVA had not posted it here, we would not have known. And at that, they vanished very quickly. ** ProBoards pushed out a fix on the page numbers overnight on 4.4.13-4.5.13 -- that was supposed to fix the page numbers. If you are still having problems, and use an iPad, you might want to check and see if you operating system is updated. I happened to be at my office computer right before 10 am and I'm sure like many of you I'm "programmed" to be online when a ticket sale starts. I had picked up a ticket on the ALF presale but wanted to get a print at home ticket for insurance. I was so shocked when I saw premium pit ticket come up I immediately grabbed one, called my traveling buddy on the phone, picked up one for her and then came over here to post. I thought a lot of people probably bought tickets on ALF and would not have checked out the main sale. There was absolutely no information anywhere on the Pittsburgh Pride site about it, and if you go there now, you won't see anything about it now either. Obviously that was the high point of my day. Things rapidly slid downhill between 3 stressful client appointments and the not-so-surprising-but-still-sad news about the breakup. But - today is a new day and it's a beautiful sunny one here in southeast Virginia. Maybe spring is here at last. Just in case it isn't, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in warmer weather in Miami!
