Yeah, in the US Adam has completely dropped off the radar. Here's hoping his team makes smart choices and radio gives him a shot next album. Don't know if I would be willing to go down the AI road again, lol. For me, I guess it would all depend on who else would be sittting on the panel, because as we've seen this year, chemistry is everything. I will say, next season's AI would probably be amazing timing in terms of album 3... Adam has not completely dropped off the radar. But it is not the time for him to be out promoting anything. I looked at stats of news reports, airplay, streaming media play, online searches, etc. and he has a consistent level of buzz/PR. Adam is focused on doing some high-profile appearances -- like GLAAD and Life Ball, and creating music. There is plenty of time for him to promote the album and work radio when he is done. The promotional cycle is that first a recording artist creates music, then they promote that music when it is available for sale, then they tour to make money. Then they head back into the studio and it starts over again. ** Setting aside any feelings Adam has for Idol -- we know he is a fan and has consistently stayed involved with the show since he left -- and just looking at the numbers.... If Adam was gong to be a vocal talent show judge, I would rather see him do The Voice vs. Idol. The Voice has higher ratings than Idol, and better demos. It also is headed up. Ohh.. Adam to be a judge at The Voice?? It's really a good idea, to replace the other Adam with Adam Lambert, so there won't be any misunderstanding anymore which Adam is actually the judge of The Voice.

Well I guess, AI didn't hurt Mariah either. She is opening up the GMA summer concert series on ABC.

The other day while I was waiting for an appt I picked up a Seventeen magazine -- hadn't looked at one since, well, I was 17. ANYWAYS, there was an ad in it for one of JLo's products -- maybe perfume?, can't remember. There was a pic of her (full page) and I started staring at it and was trying to figure out what looked wrong cuz it just struck me as odd. Then, I noticed that JLo looked old -- old for that magazine; old compared to all the other ads. So, then, I started wondering why she is considered soooooo "current". I think, and maybe wrongly, that it was all because of her stint on Idol. She was in decline before then -- the exposure did wonders for her career. She was there after Adam, most everyone here felt Idol was in decline and it still helped her. I don't really want to see Adam do an Idol gig but that's not up to me. He happens to be a fan, he thanks them constantly for launching his career. Even in decline I can see him taking the job if he was approached.

Just want to say that if Adam was on the judging panel, it wouldn't suck! Oh, just saw a tweet that Nicki Minja just got signed to do Cameron Diaz' latest movie. Damn Idol, ruining her career like that! Some fans love the Idol judge idea for Adam and say so, and some vehemently hate it and make their feelings known - but what matters to me is what Adam wants, and he sure as hell wanted it. Guess that's why I wanted it so much for him - and still do. Maybe it could ruin his career like it ruined Nicki's. heh. I don't know anything about music industry so I definitely don't know what's good or bad for Adam's career. To me that's why he has DMG. As a fan, I'm just going to support whatever Adam wants to do. If he wants to be a judge or mentor on Idol, I'm going to be there every week in front of my TV waiting to see his beautiful smile and face and his contagious laugh. If he wants to be a co-host on a talk show, I'm going to have my DVR ready to record every episode he's in. Whatever he wants and what makes him happy, will make me a happy fan as well.

I wonder sometimes if people get some kind of masochistic thrill from relaying stories about how people are always OOH WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ADAM?? and all that jazz. I see it a lot in this fandom and I am mystified by it, and I'm not callin out anyone in particular here it's just something I've been noticing a lot lately. It's like, ever see that SNL sketch called "Debbie Downer" where everyone is having fun and Debbie (played by Rachel Dratch) randomly brings up orphans with malaria or something LOL. Just saying, yea I'm sure these encounters happen, but....do we really need to hear about them? LOL. I WANT TO LIVE IN MY BUBBLE WHERE EVERYTHING IS BLACK AND YELLOW AND NOTHING HURTS!!! All we can do it hope for the best and try and believe his team is working on shit to keep growing his visibility and whatnot. *shrugs* But nevertheless there will ALWAYS be people who don't follow pop culture or whatnot who will always wonder what happened to so and so, even if he becomes the biggest star evah. Anyways, on another note, I was perusing the Idol related posts here and while I agree that weekly exposure on TV is AMAZING, I have now cooled considerably towards him having any kind of judgeship association with Idol. Yeah I wanted him to nab it this go around but that was before we came to see this season IS THE ALL EVIL SUCCUBUS OF ALL THINGS GOOD IN THE ENTIRE KNOWN UNIVERSE and I don't think I could stomach him being involved with Idol if they were to keep circling the drain like this. The judges are awkward and mostly terrible, the talent isn't that memorable, the manipulation--which was always present before but never to this level--is ridiculous and I'm pretty sure the judges are spouting off whatever predetermined crap Nigel wants them to say. And I think I'd throw something at the TV if I ever witnessed Adam becoming some producer mouthpiece. The ONLY way I'd ever think it was a good plan is if the shows producers were canned and they regrouped and took into account all the amazing minor tweaks people have been suggesting for years, and ofc got an amazing feel good panel like the voice. But considering people have been suggesting these minor tweaks FOR YEARS AND THEY STILL ARE DOING THE SAME CRAP I MEAN BURT BACHARACH NIGHT ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME is not giving me any kind of faith that anything will ever, ever, ever change. Speaking of The Voice...ofc it would be a better show for him to be on like someone mentioned, but ISN'T HE ALREADY ON IT??? Hmmm....lololol But yeah. TV exposure. AMAZING. I hope DMG gets him tons! But Idol? Meh. MAYBE and I mean MAAAAYBE if he was some kind of mentor and they gave Jimmy the boot it would be ok, but...idk man. Yeah. I've really done a 180 on this whole Idol thing. BTW HE DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO JUDGE PALTRY SINGING SHOWS WHEN HE'S IN A SATANIC SEX CULT! THOSE THINGS KEEP YOU VERY VERY BUSY! Thank You for your truth..Adam seems to be gathering fans in the LGBTQ family and in Asia.. He's always working it.. I don't keep up with other pop singers other than Adam.. So why would other people keep up with Adam if they are interested in other singers?I think people who are avid IDIOL fans all know who Adam is and that's a lot of people. Do they know his day to day sightings, doubtful. I love Kelly Clarkson and read about her when her music is out, hear her on the radio, etc.,but never go out of my way to find out what or how she's doing.Adam's popularity may never be the same as the American super star pop singers.. Nevertheless,IMHO he has a fine fan base all over the world, especially for just starting out in the record business.
