Just want to say that if Adam was on the judging panel, it wouldn't suck! Oh, just saw a tweet that Nicki Minja just got signed to do Cameron Diaz' latest movie. Damn Idol, ruining her career like that!

I love your post, Chunkey. You always say what I'm thinking but in a much better way than I can. Like Mizzle said you make me smile.

Damn Idol, ruining her career like that! Some fans love the Idol judge idea for Adam and say so, and some vehemently hate it and make their feelings known - but what matters to me is what Adam wants, and he sure as hell wanted it. Guess that's why I wanted it so much for him - and still do. Maybe it could ruin his career like it ruined Nicki's. heh.

People create and sell Twitter accounts. People bundle and sell Twitter accounts. buytwitteraccounts.org/ There are spambots that Tweet from spammer accounts. There are Twitter accounts are created by automated computer code -- bots -- that specialize in retweeting. Basically, Twitter is full of fake accounts. On Jordan's Twitter Followers, a large number of these are from when she toured with the Jonas Brothers and their fans followed her. She has been active on Twitter a long time and many of her Twitter follower accounts are old and long abandoned. But she Tweets a lot and has a large Twitter fanbase...http://twittercounter.com/JordinSparks Here is a good analysis of some top celebs on Twitter: gizmodo.com/5994621/which-celebrities-have-the-most-fake-twitter-followersI dunno. I still believe the figure that most of her followers are fake. The Jonas Brothers are not that popular (didn't they cancel concerts) and how many times have I heard that being an opener doesn't really increase one's fan base. And wouldn't that be more of a spike around when the concerts were? I bet if she had her own tour now, that she would not be able to fill venues as large as Adam could. Other than dating Jason Derulo, I just don't see anything in her (her last single and movie flopped) that warrant an average of 8K new followers a day. A telltale sign for me is that in the previous two days on TwitterCounter, her followers were exactly 11,033. What are the odds that two days in a row have the exact same number of followers? She toured with the Jonas Brothers for a large part of the 2009 World Tour which was the #6 grossing tour of 2009. During the tour, Jordan tweeted about the JBs -- so Jonas Brothers fans started following here to get info. It is hard to remember how popular they once were. This does not account for all or her followers by any means -- but many of her "real followers" are actually JB fans. In July 2010, Adam and Jordin were very close in followers: Twitter as of July 7, 2010 Jordin Sparks: 534,058 Adam Lambert: 519,960. I am certain that a large percentage of Jordin's followers are fakes but she has a lot of real followers too. And I think the 52% estimate is probably pretty good. Using stats from SocialBacker.com Adam has more REAL & ACTIVE followers than Jordin...

| Fake or Empty | Inactive | Good | Adam | Percent | 100% | 14% | 11% | 75% |
| Followers | 1,983,424 | 277,679 | 218,177 | 1,487,568 |

| Jordin | Percent | 100% | 52% | 18% | 30% |

Here is an interesting article about fake Twitter followers: bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/04/25/researchers-call-out-twitter-celebrities-with-suspicious-followings/ Adam has one of the highest GOOD numbers of any high-follower count celebrity. ETA: I actually think it would be great for Adam to be an Idol judge, I think it would be a bit better for him to be a The Voice judge/coach (better demos and bigger audience). I do not believe his career is over if he is not a reality TV judge. On Nicki, I hope it is a silent film.

Crap, I lost a whole post, ATOP ate it. This is rebuilt from memory and Notepad:
Too many cooks in the kitchen.
Idol has not yet hit rock bottom and does not know what it wants to be right now in the marketplace:
Family show? Why pick Nikki?
Money maker for sponsors? That's what producers and owners want, but it cannot be the main goal towards public, that's not credible mission.
Find singing talent? Why have lousy singers in final 10 and why promise radio hits, when great singers are not usually in pop?
Find a pop star? Why not focus more on performance talent? This year’s top 10 were terribly weak as performers or as personalities?
Be a quality talent competition? Cannot be that rigged and with dysfunctional judging panel.
Be modern and attract a younger audience? Why song catalogs that are too dated even for folks in their 50s or 60s?
And so on.
When this show is ready to not only milk the remaining cash out of the cash cow, but is ready to update itself, then it is time to spring on board, if at all for Adam.
Adam is currently out of the public eye, true, but interest in him remains high and people know his name. He has a very stable and solid fanbase.
He needs to be newly positioned by presenting him to the public on TV in such a way that Adam can show his wonderful personality, so that the distortion that press and radio has created for him over time is replaced by a more current perception. Perhaps he can do this via a non-singing avenue. Perhaps somebody tries to redo a show like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Adam joins them or something else in fashion rather than music. Whatever it is, it will need to happen when he has something to promote.
Right now, I don't think US idol is on a good path and many want to see it go away, i.e. some of radio, i.e. the other singing shows (esp. the Voice), i.e. lots of the media. It gets very little positive press and so I don't think Adam would be helped, even if he would be seen by millions on TV. There is a negative vibe around idol right now. And I am not sure that one person alone can turn that around, Adam or anyone else for that matter.
Adam has built a strong career finding a personal path that is different than just hitting the single charts. A number 1 and number 3 album is remarkable, if you think about it. But we all know that RCA either messed up the Trespassing roll-out or found the doors slammed in its face by radio. Either way repeating the same is not going to work, and they need to decide on a different path this time. Not sure that idol is of help. Adam will be fine either way, its RCA where the sticky point is right now.
Not worried about Adam and public perception, right now it is all about new music and the occasional gig in between.
