Hello everyone~ Idol.. used to watch both American and Canadian Idol ( when it was on ) .. can't really get into it anymore. The format is too drawn out, the performances too everyday for me. I don't know about Adam judging, I do think it would give the program one more kickstart, and it wouldn't hurt Adam's career. It would also give him stability in his life, income, the opportunity to stay in one place for a while, maybe buy a house, which I think he might actually want. Comments? I must add, even though this is an Adam thread, Sauli looks wonderful. He seems to bounce through life and come out on top. He looks happy and healthy and optimistic about his future. I never had any concerns about Sauli . I think he will find someone someday, if he wants someone, and live a lovely life. Adam ~ who could basically have anyone he wants, concerns me more. May I ask why does Adam concern you more? Or am I misunderstanding what you meant. As for Idol judging, I don't know what I think about him doing it next season. What I DO know is that I don't want to go down that path again. It was too disappointing last time. |

I really do not think Adam needs Idol if he had been on Idol this year he would not have toured Asia and been able to go to China. When his new single comes out he needs to do all the talk shows and really plug it. Lots of TV time like the other singers do. ![]() |

How about Adam, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Stoddard, & Kellie Pickler? That would be a real hoot to watch. I don't know enough about these folks to have an opinion on such a judges panel. My question would be, "Are they personable, charismatic, and able to give cogent, specific, helpful feedback as a judge?" We know they can sing, but that is not the only criterion for judging, and possibly not the most important one. A good judge needs to be a good teacher. Contrary to popular opinion, teaching well is not very easy, and good teachers are not that common. I mean, we all know Mariah can sing, but the feedback I have seen her give the contestants has been rambling, confusing and not helpful, IMO. I know from watching Adam mentor and from comments made by other Idol contestants, that Adam IS a good teacher. He also has charisma and wit in large quantitiess. The others, I don't know. We talk about Idol losing millions in viewing ratings, but it still out-performs most other shows on network TV. I think it will be around next year. Do I want Adam on it as a judge? Not really. As good as he would be, the problem with Idol goes way beyond the judging and has more to do with the format and the manipulation and the voting and the themes and the song selection and...... you get the picture. I don't want Adam blamed for its sagging ratings and poor reputation. YMMV |

Adam being a judge on Idol was somewhat different than some of the other rumors about Adam doing things. There were press reports, Adam's comments, and he was approached. Now that Idol is crashing, I am glad he is not on the show although I am thoroughly convinced that IF he was on that panel, he would bring a lighter tone and add some fun/humor/wit that would make the show better. But the only thing that could have made that panel really work would have been not hiring Mariah and Nicki. My biggest wish for Adam and Idol is that he returns to Idol next year to perform his #1 single.  I am staying focused on the music. And it appears that Adam is focusing on creating new music. |

I think Adam as an Idol judge would have placed him back in the public eye and made him a household name again. As it is, the general U.S. public has no idea he is still doing ANYTHING musically.
We only know what he is doing because we follow him and devour any bit of info about him. As far as the general public, he has fallen off the face of the earth.

I agree Q3 - in retrospect I'm glad he's not on the show. Also agree that he would have added all those things.
Yes - It was definitely more than a rumor that Adam was being considered for a judging role on Idol. They apparently had discussions with him. Towards the end many fans believed he had it, so when it didn't turn out that way it was a pretty big disappointment. Many people think they kept him hanging til the end. And if they approached him again I fear he wouldn't turn it down. I don't know if it would be a good thing for him or not. How it helps him is all I care about. Don't care about the show.

And since Randy is like mildew (something you can never really get rid of), how about Adam, Kelly C., Kellie P. and Randy? It would certainly be much more entertaining than the current panel! |

I am staying focused on the music. And it appears that Adam is focusing on creating new music.
