I think Adam as an Idol judge would have placed him back in the public eye and made him a household name again. As it is, the general U.S. public has no idea he is still doing ANYTHING musically. We only know what he is doing because we follow him and devour any bit of info about him. As far as the general public, he has fallen off the face of the earth. Don't hear much of Lady Gaga since her injuries,Or Katy since her separation from What's his name? I think It's just the name of the game,New music and gossip 24/7.IMHO Adam gets a great deal of press in the U.S. and in the world. Lady Gaga and Katy will be all over the news and gossip site when they have new music to promote. Gaga's ARTPOP is expected to come out this fall -- prob November. But both Lady Gaga and Katy get more news coverage than Adam -- the exception was post AMAs in 11/2009. I've never been a big Sauli fan, but I do want him to be happy. I try very hard not to concern myself about Adam's love life. However, I am excited about my new idea for the Idol judges panel. How about Adam, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Stoddard, & Kellie Pickler? That would be a real hoot to watch. I don't know enough about these folks to have an opinion on such a judges panel. My question would be, "Are they personable, charismatic, and able to give cogent, specific, helpful feedback as a judge?" We know they can sing, but that is not the only criterion for judging, and possibly not the most important one. A good judge needs to be a good teacher. Contrary to popular opinion, teaching well is not very easy, and good teachers are not that common. I mean, we all know Mariah can sing, but the feedback I have seen her give the contestants has been rambling, confusing and not helpful, IMO. I know from watching Adam mentor and from comments made by other Idol contestants, that Adam IS a good teacher. He also has charisma and wit in large quantitiess. The others, I don't know. We talk about Idol losing millions in viewing ratings, but it still out-performs most other shows on network TV. I think it will be around next year. Do I want Adam on it as a judge? Not really. As good as he would be, the problem with Idol goes way beyond the judging and has more to do with the format and the manipulation and the voting and the themes and the song selection and...... you get the picture. I don't want Adam blamed for its sagging ratings and poor reputation. YMMV Yeah, no doubts about Adam. I put Ruben in there because my theme is past contestants. My impression of him is that he's a real sweetheart. Kelly C is still a big deal. She and Adam seem to respect each other. From what I've seen, both K's are charismatic and pretty fearless about speaking their minds. Kellie P is very funny and went out of her way to make Adam welcome in Nashvillle back during GNT. She's been a real standout on DWTS this season. Other than Adam, I don't have a take on their teaching ability, but I think they'd be better than any of the judges they've had in the past. Of course, this is just my fantasy judges panel and it works in my head. I'm guessing your fantasy panel would include an opera singer. Angelina? That works for me, too.  |

The thelambertluvva post about percentage of fake or empty Twitter followers peaked my curiosity because I also have been suspicious of Jordin's large following given her concert draws. What I hope one of the knowledgeable people on this board can tell me is how these bogus accounts are created, where do they come from?

I rewatched the Andy Cohen show with Adam last night. A caller claimed to be a big fan and said she had bought Trespassing. Adam asked her which song was her fav and she said Whatya Want From Me. The further Adam has gotten from the regular Idol TV appearances, the further he has gotten from the public's thoughts. I simply don't think that point is arguable. |
