I try to stream & view off and on all day long. I have a couple of questions on videos:
One,I usually view on youtube instead of VEVO. Does it make a difference?
Two, I try to view each video only once an hour in fear that more often than that will not be counted. Is this a groundless fear?
I know there is a 40 play loop going around for Trespassing, but I sometimes wonder if it has done the count more harm than good.

Oh, ya! I thought everyone knew this? And if I'm not mistaken there's a more recent article that has said Bain is even buying more stations.  YEEK...Whatever happened to our NO monopoly laws??? and what can we do to help Adam get on air..A Million moms against clear channel..LOL All the monopoly laws pretty much went out the window. As long as there are two then now that's fine. It's what happens when corporate interests can buy votes and the prevailing view (not backed up by research or history) that what is good for business is good for citizens. |

Exclusive: On-Demand Streams Now Count Toward RIAA Gold & Platinum In an uncommon move to tinker with the formula used to certify Gold and Platinum awards, the Recording Industry Association of America on Thursday announced it has started to incorporate on-demand streams towards its calculations for certifying the prestigious awards. The change, only the fifth major alteration in the methodology since the inception of the program in 1958, is meant to recognize how important digital distribution has become and how technology has permanently altered the way people access music. Among the on-demand streaming services the RIAA will accept are MOG, Muve Music, Rdio, Rhapsody, Slacker, Spotify, Xbox Music and others. In addition, video streams from MTV.com, VEVO, Yahoo! Music and YouTube will also count. If it is a random fan's You Tube channel, then no. |

Yea, IHY just past 37 million views. Trespassing Lyric Video is getting very close to 2 million and FYE is nearing 18 million.
