Just maybe Adam will be singing with Candace wouldn't that be a worthy matchup?? I think it is probably put Adam and Angie together (both have musical theater background). And I think it will work well. They will probably put Candice with an African American R&B singer. That is what they have done in the past. Here are the ones I could find: Billy Preston with Vonzell Solomon Al Jarreau with Paris Bennett Melinda Doolittle sang "Hold Up the Light" with BeBe and CeCe Winans, with whom she used to sing backup Ruben Studdard with Jordin Sparks Seal with Syesha Mercado Queen Latifah with Lil Rounds (Rubin and Fantasia did not have duets on the finale) ETA: I found one exception - in 2010 Michael McDonald with Michael Lynche. There have not been many non-white finalists on Idol so not much history. |

Just maybe Adam will be singing with Candace wouldn't that be a worthy matchup?? It came to my mind that when Angie did not make the top 2, things started getting shuffled around. Angie might not know now who she'll sing with. Again, Adam may duet with...it would have to be Candice (my choice all along..YAY!) or he now has a solo spot which I would give anything for. Especially with the momentum TP got from that 2 minute WATN. Lots going on behind the scenes I expect. Also, Angie's lack of being able to handle press is one reason I so admire Adam waiting until he was 27 to audition. The other 2 gals have more poise, especially Candice who had to work as a travel agent before Idol and deal with the public each day. Some of these young people may make for good eye candy and maybe sell records, but many cannot articulate. Interviews and media savvy are almost as important as singing from my viewing Adam. He creates opportunities. I'd like to see each Idol in the top 10 (?) have a boot camp week where they learn nothing but how the business works and hone some skills. Work it in offscreen while Idol is still showing auditions??? I don't watch the show to know how they could fit this in, but it would be invaluable IMO. |

I am less interested in Angie than I am in what Adam will be singing and if he will do a duet? Angie was asked about Jessie J. who is her favorite artist. She did not bring it up. AND the combo of an evangelical Christian singer and Adam was a bit odd, so maybe now that she is #3 they will move it around a bit. In any case, they are not supposed to talk about the finale in advance. Q: You’ll be back to sing on the finale next week, and there are rumors you’ll duet with either Idol alum Adam Lambert or your own personal idol Jessie J. Any truth to those rumors? Angie: I don’t know 100% what’s going on yet. I would die if I were able to sing with Jessie J. That would be the most incredible thing ever, so I hope it happens. But now that Angie's not even in the Finale, I sure HOPE that AI/Fox WILL change the plan for the duet. People keep saying Adam & Candice duet will be better. |

Not too many stars get to solo during the finale. There were a few WTF moments on the finale with a solo, namely Rod Stewart singing Maggie May. It just seemed to go on and on and on. There have been others but it seems to be reserved spots for those who probably imo do not so well dueting with the contestants, and showcase them.
Because Adam is such a team player with such a phenomenal voice, if it is not Angie then Candace. I just could not connect to Angie all season long, but Candace has a great voice. I just think she is shy and lacks a lot of self confidence, that she will gain with time. This competition will be a tough call between Kree and Candace, but I think Kree will win.
I am shaking my head about Mariah's new video for Beautiful. What was she thinking????Couldn't even focus on the song. But the song blended into the background, so to me it was not memorable.
Looking forward to any tidbits for tonight, and looking forward to seeing Adam on the finale Thursday. My son has his high school Track Team banquet on Thursday, and I am hoping we get back in time. He lettered as a freshman Varsity member for the 800m (0.5), 1600m (1 mile)and the 4x400(relay). so proud!!! So keeping my fingers crossed to see Adam on tv.

Ryan said after Adam's package that "Adam will be on stage for a (killer?) surprise duet next week", so I doubt they'd switch it to a solo performance. Tho in the past haven't they sometimes started off as solos and segue into duets, or the other way around?

So a question on the youtube. Since Adam's official videos are on VEVO will anything on youtube count for him? I would like to see every video that has his song as a background - ie all the fan videos yay!, get counted too. Any chance of that? Fan videos are not being counted. I think it would be really difficult to count fan videos. What streaming WILL count toward BB placement? I'm confused too. I know fan vids are out... ETA: I think you answered my question, Q3! Teddy makes a good point here..there isn't going to be a middle-ground in this change IMO. It will either reflect very well on artists or it will be a mockery.

I'll try to focus on this weekend's happenings (= Glaad) but it's hard. There's a lot going on. We do have the AI episode with Harry Connick Jr broadcasted at the moment and also Eurovision Song Contest marathon (3hrs) with all the song previews with studio comments - and then there's the Ice Hockey World Championships (Finland is doing well btw and I won a bet, yay) and Mother's Day tomorrow...
For me, Finland won its match earlier today and now I'll let the Eurovision broadcast run on the background as AI is old news already. Having dinner and maybe I'll a visit to a nearby bar to see some friends.
In Adamland I'm just wondering if Adam is already in SF or on his way, and if he's going with his mother? Excited about any news on this event and looking forward to reading all about it later. Have fun and celebrate the achievement!!!
