Enjoyed Adam (and Angie's) performance on Idol. Too often duets get treated like a competition (looking at you Jhud) rather than as a collaboration. This was a collaboration and the result was just lovely, restrained and beautiful. Kudos and great to see the recognition and kudos being thrown Adam's way. Being generous is such a rare thing these days it really does get noticed... IKR? It's his generosity of spirit and 100% pure classiness that has just done me in tonight. I mean, my heart was just melting over and over, watching him on stage, watching him look at Angie and watching her looking back at him... the expressions on his face... his posture... his restrained movements... the smile that broke through for Angie almost before he'd finished that last note... and her joy and happiness when she threw her arms around him, just like Allison did at the end of Slow Ride four years ago. I know there are lots of purists here who aren't remotely interested in Adam doing duets, but I'm not one of them. There are qualities that come out in Adam in a duet situation that are just touchingly different than when he's up on stage solo. I can't even explain it, but it makes me seriously WEEPY. I'll leave it to aleks and momtomany to get all poetic and explain it. All I know is that Adam + duet = at least an entire box of kleenex.  It's like finding that perfect dance partner!!! Where the lead & follow happens with such perfect harmony, the movement just flows, and you are free to be so creative within the partnership. I know that feeling - it is really hard to find a partner like that and you relish every dance you can get with that person! I imagine it is the same with singing duets! |

The Titanium duet was a pure delight!!! What an incredible man! Adam stayed true to himself and he easily won my heart again and again. It's all about opening minds before they are willing to accept his artistry. ![]() Maitospf, i kept nodding my head when reading your posts and i do understand your frustrations, Skylar.<<hugs>> Melliemum, it's true : "Sometimes, less is more". ![]() |

The Roller Coaster Series : Day 13
SO I woke up at 5 a.m. to see what Adam did on iDoll ....
And I have GOOD things to say , and BAD things to say .
Let's start with the BAD things :
Yeah so it was a duet . And it was a cover .
(I already said my opinion about a cover, so I won't repeat).
The cover was "Titanium" by David Getta and Sia .
Now where the hell did that come from ? I mean , if they were to do a cover, I would have preferred a "Queen" song .
But , really , I did not want a cover . "Whataya Want From Me" would have been 1000 times better . Hell , even a song from the "Beg For Money" album would be better . (Well no , not really , scratch that last line up , LOL)
And , Jessie J ......I mean , they got her in for last minute , and she DID get the chance to sing one of her songs , pimp herself up .
Hell , Ryan didn't even mention Adam's name .
I can just picture the AI executives and producers sayin' "Dude , we got Adam Lambert !!!" , and then another one says "Hey , I called up Jessie J and she said she'd be up for the finale !!!" , "Well that's great man !!! she's so famous , this will sure get the ratings up !!!!! let's get her to duet with Angie !!!!" , "But , dude , we already got Adam , what do we do with him ?" ,
"Oh , shit , right , damn it , just put him to sing a little bit with Angie and then give the light to Jessie"
Yeah , that's what happened . Jerks . Motherfuckers . Who's Adam anyways ? right ? He isn't famous enough to sing his own songs , or for his name to come out of Ryan Motherfucking Sea-fuck's duck lips .
I said that Idol has my respect back ? Take that shit back .
I would happily SHIT on American SHIT-doll anyday .

Dont know what you saw but all I saw was mutual respect between Adam, Angie, and JJ. Ryan did say and Adam Lambert! here in NZ tonight, and they all hugged in the end, I think people are over - exagerrating here, Adam was the celebrity guest doing a duet with one of the shows contestents. Yes JJ did one of her songs, but it was pretty obvious Angie and JJ were not a good match, over and under singing each other. What Adam got out of it was he showed more then his vocal qualities, he almost under sang to give Angie her moment, and thats not something I can say about say Jhud for example who was clearly trying to "outsing" Candace.
