Craazyforadam, Daft Punk has made music for a long time, their debut single was released 1994. First they used masks and moved on to helmets around 2001. It is their 'trademark' - nothing to do with the Blonds. (I checked the years from Wiki. You too will find a lot more info there.)

To loop or not to loop has been a big topic of discussion on twitter for 4 days now. No one knows the answer. So I decided to do my own unscientific experiment.
I made a playlist with 15 plays of one of my old Idol Tour videos. I made sure to pick one that had over 301 views already. I made the video "unlisted" and sent the link to 6 reliable people that I knew would join in my experiment. As of last night, not one single view had been added. So I came to the preliminary conclusion that loops don't count anything at all. :(
BUT! Lo and behold, when I woke up this morning, 129 views had been added! Guess it takes YT more than 2 hours to update.
If I take those 129 views and divide them by 6 people it comes to 21.5 views person that got counted. My conclusion is that not all views in a loop are counted, but some are! Not sure if it's the first one in each play or maybe they count one an hour? Who knows?
So, my suggestion is that if you can get in more than 20-30 unique views of a video per day, then do it! But if you can't because maybe you are away from the computer for hours or just too busy to click play once an hour or every 2 hours, then do the playlist because something will get counted!

On the recurring subject of Adam being a judge (or mentor) on Idol - there are so many of these singing reality shows now. It's not a surprise that people seem to be getting "sung out". Now there is apparently another one on the horizon: John Barrowman Will Host New ABC Competition Series "Sing Your Face Off"
By Andrew Gans 21 May 2013 Stage and screen star John Barrowman, who has been seen on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard and Putting It Together, will host the new singing competition series "Sing Your Face Off," according to EW.com. www.playbill.com/news/article/178189-John-Barrowman-Will-Host-New-ABC-Competition-Series-Sing-Your-Face-OffI'm in the camp that wants Idol for him because HE WANTS IT. But I wonder if TPTB think they'll be able to get him for peanuts because he seems so eager. He should play hard to get just a little bit.

Maddie, are you able to tell us how (and if) we can get the AI duet played via the youku page? Wish I would see that video on the front page instead of paparazzi videos and even a few simple fan videos that are there now. If we all start playing the Angie-Adam duet, would it move up in rank?
I would think that the musically interested folks in China would love that performance, if they had a chance to hear it.
Thanks

Crazyforadam said: Kamar, you nailed this one. Totally agree. If Adam wants it, and he does, then I want it for him and I hope it goes alright. Not because I doubt Adam's skill, but because I want Adam to be part of the judges team that is the'turnaround team' and not another year of sliding further downhill - team. And I don't think that this group of producers and executives has an effing clue how to fix it. The suggestions have been out for years and they are not taking them, which tells me they are not getting it. Perhaps a year later would be better. After A3 is done and needs to be promoted. And I don't think by November 2013 Adam will be done with A3. That recent AI press conference that Q3 posted a few days ago only confirmed my feelings about this management team. Adam can do a lot of good as a judge, but single-handedly turning this ocean freighter around, he cannot. It takes a management team with a vision, a harmonious team, good contestants, good song catalog, playing to idols strengths instead of imitating the competition and lots more to make it work. Yes to Ben Folds, though. He is rather analytical and really, really good in his succinct critiques and would be a good balance with Adam's more out there and warmer and sunnier personality. Adam is very positive towards other peoples artistry and tends to be always complementary. I think Adam's strength is the variety of aspects he takes into account and that showed when he was a mentor. He talked about facial expression with one contestant, vocal technique with the next and personality related advice with a third and all were spot on. He will bring variety and interest and competence and humor to the evaluation. So, that would work and then they just need a competent and pleasant female and they have a judging panel.... and then we just hope and pray that they made enough managerial changes at the top to make it work again. Not holding my breath on that one though. They'll just hang Nigel and save their sorry asses at Fox, I am afraid. Read more: atop.proboards.com/thread/1736/help-answer-adam-idol-judge?page=4#ixzz2Tx7kaUlJI agree pretty much with this although Adam does not need to have A3 ready by November does he? It just needs to be ready by the live shows in February or so.....I would think...in fact that would be better... Re a good female judge, Jennifer Nettles is really good....I watched the Duets show a few times last year, mostly for her...who I was completely unfamiliar until this. She is really supportive, can do a duet that allows her partner to shine in the same manner that Adam did with Angie, and she is country--but not 'in your face' country so attracts that demography. She was pregnant at the time so with a new baby at home, a gig like this may be right up her ally. Unless she is tied to Duets. She put the rest of the judges to shame to be honest....although Kelly C. was next best and generally held her own. But Jennifer definitely shone. IMHO

Well, Q3 asked, so here’s my answer to why Adam should be an AI judge. I haven’t read the thread yet, so I hope this is not totally out of left field. Possible unpopular opinion ahead. First, a disclaimer. I don’t like AI, or at least I don’t like what it’s become. I have very little respect for many of the judges that have sat at that table in the last few years. The people in my circle consider AI to be a cheesy factory for producing wannabe singers, and it’s not on the radar of anyone anymore. (My radio DJs talk about the Voice, not AI, when they even bother to talk about reality TV.) So. The idea of Adam’s name being linked, again, to the farce that is American Idol just fills me with dismay. I’m sorry. That’s my personal opinion only. Taking my personal opinion on the show itself out of the equation…Of course Adam would be a great judge! And I do think he’d be good for ratings, but not because of his existing fans. Adam’s US fanbase is not strong enough to change the ratings significantly on its own. What AI hasn’t figured out yet is while big names might get viewers to tune in at first, those viewers won’t stay if the judges are not obviously enjoying what they do. The judges have to be good judges first, have great chemistry among them second…and after that who the hell cares who they are. THIS is why Adam would be good for ratings. In addition to all the other qualities he brings, he would be able to create a palpable sense of camaraderie with the other judges, and obvious engagement in the contestants. People will watch for that. That might even make ME watch! However, I do not think an entire panel of AI contestants is good for the show. I don’t think any AI contestants except Adam would be good for the show, and Adam’s value is so much more than just his past experience as a contestant. And Adam alone can’t save the show. They need a couple of other good, engaging, professional, interesting and interested people on that panel for things to work. Would it be good for Adam’s sales? Yes, no question!!! Would it be good for his credibility? Well, there’s the rub. I don’t know. All other judges who are recording artists have been HUGELY successful as recording artists first. Their “credibility” can take the criticism of selling out for the judge’s paycheck. But Adam isn’t in the same position as Paula, Stephen, JLo, Keith, Nicki. He isn’t a huge north American star. So, it might serve to cement the impression in some people’s minds that he’s just a wannabe himself. Is that a problem for real, or only in my own mind?? Would the increased sales make this a minor issue? Would his natural charm just negate this totally?? Am i too biased in my dislike of the show to be rational?! I don’t know. All I do know is that I think Adam’s reputation as one of the best singers of this generation who is open and honest is all aspects of his life is very valuable. I wouldn’t want to see that tarnished in any way…and considering the conspiracy theories that the judges have to follow the producers’ script, well, it’s certainly a possibility. Conclusion, if he wants it then I want it for him. But I sure don’t want it for myself.
