Catching up to everyone else and passing some as well!! We have staying power and it doesn't look like there are a lot more adds on Mariah. I bet we can catch her. I don't know if it matters to Idol or if they will even notice but it feels right to have that be the most watched video of the night. |

I thought the violinist wasn't playing live until I saw that the violin was miked and she was wearing a cordless mic pack..... Not sure they would bother with a labeled microphone for Adam if he was lip syncing..... I noticed the mics too. They might add them to make it look real. But maybe the sound was that that far off from the video. The violinist did not have her bow on the strings a couple places where there was violin sound. I'm not saying that Adam looked off. But the sound seemed like a studio mix to me. I'm probably wrong because other people are more astute observers of this stuff. However, the violinist air violin is mine. :D I wondered about that too until I realized that there was an entire orchestra playing too. |

Absolutely glorious. Amazing song and yes backing track used but his mouth was certainly moving exactly with the words from what I was watching. So I don't think it was lip synching He looked gorgeous and what a fabulous event.

You can hear Adam is singing from the opening of the song, then there is a back track with Adam.. YouTube pretty good hoping for even clearer sound... So happy with the performance Totally amazing show.I thought I was going to have a heart attack before Adam came on.. Whew We did it Adam and Angie Titanium over 500,000.. I could cry all the way around. |

I would say heavy, loud backing track with Adam singing live but we couldn't hear him. When we hear the i-tunes version and see if all those riffs are in it, we will know better. But watch any of his MV & you will see he is a bad lip syncer, and this looked great, so I think he was actually singing. The recorded track is probably due to their tech specs.

I would be VERY surprised if Adam agreed to lip sync the song. However, they had a strong studio backing tape, for sure. They had to because in studio, Adam was singing multiple parts and harmonies. So, you would hear what is definitely Adam's voice but it wouldn't match with the video because he was not singing that part. IMO. that's what I was thinking. It had a strong back tape. I don't think Adam lip synced. But I really don't care...it was a fierce performance. Wish I was there right in the first row. Day-um...I loved it! ![]() |
