In one of the radio promo gigs a fan asked Adam if he still had the sleepwalker coat. He said he had worn it to Burning Man and it was perfect because it had ventilation in the arm pits. Don't know if that helps or hurts the debate on whether the coat is the same. It amazes me how he "repurposes" so many of his clothes, even now. Extravagent and frugal at the same time.

His stage presence is like a bolt of lightning traveling. What energy!! And yes, the singing was fantastic as well..but woah...and he connects with everyone. Those laser eyes not missing a thing. Happy to hear he's getting kudos from LifeBall!! His stature, his movements....my gawd.... Adam is SO dynamic....LifeBall 2013!!

Difficult to say if it's the same coat or not but it looks very similar. It's quite possible to remodel it: open the armpit seam and take in from the lower part. The thing that I'm most dubious about is the material that indeed looks very thin in the Sleepwalker coat.
The remodeling takes time, maybe almost as long as making a new one - and a new one could have 'stronger' fabric as material. Also part of the embroidery could be first done to the fabric before the coat is sewn up which makes that part easier and quicker. If it's not the SW coat it surely is made according to it. I think the work was done in Vienna by the arts team / student project like the other costumes.
I was believing it's a new one but then came to think about the buttons. Why make so many buttons when they serve no purpose and with the embroidery you cannot even see them, they don't have even a decoration purpose anymore? Also a new one would need a fitting - was there time for that? No worries about that if the piece was used and tried - just give it to them to do their magic.
So, probably SW coat after all. Sad to see it go but Adam has done the trick many times over and seems not to be too attached to their sentimental value. I think he is happy to have it renewed.
ETA I didn't look the SW video which was the argument against LB coat being SW coat based on the missing armpit holes. Maybe the hole were made later during the tour? I think almost all his stage clothes have the holes. Necessary for this type of coat especially. And I remember now the interview where he said it was in the BM, didn't he say it was about ruined or something to the effect, having sand everywhere.

As much money and coordination that were poured into this event, I would be extremely surprised if his costume was not tailored along with the rest of the costumes. In addition to the coat, some one had to make the turban and someone made him some boots to match. He may be wearing his own pants and shirt but I think they probably told him what would be suitable. Nope, I don't think there was any reworking of an old garment for this shindig. Of course, that's just what makes sense to me. Given the elaborate production and expense that goes into the life ball, I agree! I think it's incredibly unlikely the organizers asked their star performer if he had anything in his closet they could cobble a costume out of.

This is pretty OT today, since we have Adam's new song to watch and listen to - but I want to say I watched the "Somebody to Love" video that Adam posted a couple days ago. I have watched the entire Kiev concert a gazillion times, and have also watched quite a few of the individual YouTubes from London, but not this one. You can feel/hear the audience in this one, and you know Adam can, too. Infinity for sure! He has so much energy by the end of the song it seems he might explode! And forever thanks to suz526 for including the huge ovation at the end. Can't imagine how it must have been to be there.

This makes me so happy. Adam has gotten to do so many amazing things in his career so far that are just so fitting to who he is and what some of his dreams are.
(Secret confession. Does anyone else ever daydream about going back in time and showing the teenager he was about all the amazing things he's going to do and become? Probably just me. I'd add a blushing smilie if my phone could handle them)
