Adam Lambert brings star power to LA’s LGBT Pride Month opening celebration at City Hall

Photographer Jon Viscott got some terrific images from last night’s Third Annual LGBT Heritage Month Opening Celebration which I unfortunately could not attend.

Outgoing LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has certainly been one of the most gay-friendly mayors in LA history which has been wonderful.

He presided over what looked like a very fun evening and featured superstar singer Adam Lambert who, I think, would make a terrific American Idol judge next season! Not sure if that is being considered but it would be good.

Lambert was honored at the event along with Mia Yamamota and Rodney Scott and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles performed.

Also at the event were the new newly-elected gay members of the LA City Council Mike Bonin and Mitch O’Farrell!

Which former Idols should join the Idol judging panel!?
A big week in the world of American Idol. Both Nicki Minaj and Mariah announced their departures this week. This news comes after Randy Jackson revealed he was also leaving the show.

With three open spots at the judges table -- tons of rumors have been flying all over the web, and the celebs up for the job all have one thing in common.... They are all former American Idol contestants. Pretty cool right?

E! Online Reports that Jennifer Hudson has already signed on to the show -- though Fox has yet to confirm the news. She is of course an Oscar-winner and overall singing phenomenon, who first turned heads during season 3 of Idol.

Kelly Clarkson is also very close to signing on the dotted line. Not only was she the very first Idol winner, but she is also arguably one of the most successful contestants to come out of the show -- plus, she has THREE Grammys. No big deal.

Adam Lambert is also rumored to score a spot as a judge this season. Fans fell in love with him during season 8 of the show and to this day, he has one of the largest fan followings from the show. Adam's totally on board with taking on the job, just this week he said: "Dude if they called me, I'd be like, 'Yeah. Where do I sign?"

Clay Aiken is also rumored to be in the running for a spot on the season 13 panel.
Now, we're still waiting to hear whether or not Keith Urban will return -- but, I'm curious as to what you guys think of Idol bringing back, well, Idols.
