Oh and just curious. If the friend movement images are so appropriate, acceptable, and status quo, why is the middle finger blurred out? The purpose of the campaign is to have an impact and start conversations with very little money. And it appears that they might succeed for the exact reason that the image and reference to the "F word" is edgy or taboo. I think because they blur the middle finger and use the expression F Word vs spelling it out, it is not offensive but still makes the point -- that is just my opinion. In the KTLA interview, one of the co-founders described it as follows: 'When you see this photo it is about inner monologue. It's about when someone makes fun of you, we want you to say inside that "I am amazing. F you." ' ** Regarding the general shift in attitude about the words like F you, Fuck and Fucking, or the widespread use of the letter F. Why is "fuck" used so much? I think because it is one of only a few words that are offense and not racial, ethnic or gendered slurs. Is the expression BFD offensive? Or what about "I really F'ed that up."? Looking at recent hit songs -- P!nk "Fuckin' Perfect" Cee Lo Green "Fuck You" (stylized as "F**k You" or "F**k You!"), also titled "Forget You" or "FU" for edited version. Etc. The word fuck appears in James Joyce's Ulysses and in The Catcher in the Rye. And countless other literary works. The US Federal courts recognized the change in the way the word "fucking" is used and its meaning. In 2010, a federal court ruled that the Federal Communication Commission’s restrictions on “fleeting” expletives run counter to the First Amendment. Policies toward fleeting expletives—which, according to The Washington Post, are defined as a “a single, nonliteral use” of an obscene word—were invoked in 2004, after Bono’s use of “fucking”—the qualifier, not the verb, mind you—during the 2003 Golden Globes. JMHO if this campaign make a few teens believe just a bit more in themselves, then it is OK with me.

Do we actually know how many followers and "likes" the ATT Live Proud facebook page has? When I look at it I do not see any indication of how many "likes" there are. As for followers, it has said 16K for weeks now. I cannot believe that in all this time they have not achieved anything near their goal of 50k. What gives?

Lifeball @lifeball We share your enthusiasm and it would have been our wish to offer the Life Ball Song 2013 to its fans but this decision is not in our hands.
Lifeball @lifeball As Adam said: "LWOG was written specifically for @lifeball 2013, this great one-time event. Its life was short but will live on via YouTube"
