Although, if Adam had a problem with the song or RCA did, I would think that would have been worked out when he was asked to do it. I mean there would be a contract. No?  |

Lifeball @lifeball We share your enthusiasm and it would have been our wish to offer the Life Ball Song 2013 to its fans but this decision is not in our hands. Lifeball @lifeball As Adam said: "LWOG was written specifically for @lifeball 2013, this great one-time event. Its life was short but will live on via YouTube" OK So now it is not from the side of Life Ball. Sounding more like RCA. Or perhaps just not the song Adam wants out there at this time. I am kind of thinking it is the latter. Though he tweaked the lyrics, it is not really his song with his stamp. Whaddyayall think? As much as I loved the song, I don't think it made a big splash outside the fanbase, i.e. I don't remember the media flailing over it much (not like the Titanium Duet) and didn't some Vienna head honcho say it was disposable pop and was flailing over Azealia Banks? |

Though he tweaked the lyrics, it is not really his song with his stamp. Whaddyayall think? yup, I think it was Adam's decision on this one. We all know what a perfectionist he is about his music. Recording 50 songs in order to have the album he wanted. Having multiple producers work on one track until it sounded like Adam envisioned. For LWOG, Adam flew into Vienna for one day in the studio, learned the song, tweaked it a bit, and recorded it. Basically a studio musician. Definitely not the way Adam likes to work. Also, in a recent interview Adam said he thought that EDM (electro-dance music) was on its way out, and, to me, LWOG sounds like EDM, and sounds rather dated. Of course as an uber fan of Adam, I would have been more than happy to buy the song. I would be more than happy to buy a CD/DVD of Queenbert or any/all of the WAG concerts. I would be more than happy to buy a CD made up of all his radio station acoustic appearances, just him and a guitar, singing without any sound system. Or, come to think of it, a CD of him singing in his shower. His voice, off the cuff, under/unrehearsed, on his worst day beats most anything out there. But, as we heard on the soundcheck of Chokehold, Adam is meticulous, exacting, and sweetly insistent on getting the sound he wants and needs, even when my ears don't hear much of any difference. I think Adam was not satisfied with the recording. Period. End of discussion. "Sorry, I will perform the hell out of the Life Ball, I will smile, I will be totally professional, I will pose for two thousand pictures, I will praise everyone involved in the experience, but, um, no, I won't authorize the release of this song. Hope you are all okay with that (but if you aren't, I'm not gonna change my mind)." I totally agree Cassie. And Kamar:  to your 1 000th post! |

I really feel this is Adam driven and I think for all the right reasons given the transition to another envisioning of where he is creatively. A fun song for a fun occasion but not the follow up from Trespassing |

I do feel a change in the air both for Adam and the Civil rights movement we are witnessing. I've been through one Civil Rights movement and this one seems to be moving at the speed of light and I do think part of it is Adam. Without breaking out demograpic data people in general support gay marriage by 55% as of May *^ Gay Rights Poll: ABC News, Washington Post Survey Finds Support For Same-Sex Marriage, Ending Boy Scout Ban retrieved 30 May 2013 Adam is mentioned more and more as "rock star" or similar rather than gay singer or Idol runner up. Good lord he makes news buying gas! Other than the odious comment sections I could not find a derogatory piece in the news about him. I fully admit my research methods are not at the level of a Junniemoon or revlisacat but.. "and i'm feeling good". Illinois is up next. but headlline today says "Illinois Gay Marriage: House Fails To Vote On Same-Sex Marriage Bill Friday, Bill Delayed Until Fall" but the marriage equality bill was already approved by the state Senate and Gov. Quinn has vowed to sign it. What a platform for this. I agree with what has been said about confusion if the Life Ball was released and that while I like the song it does sound a bit dated. Worked for what it was intended. A question I have for those of you who understand the music business better than I do (like all of you) what kind of action plan do we need to ensure Adams next release hits the charts? With things other than radio in play how do we do this? Do you think we need to have this plan in place sooner than later? |
